INSTRUCTIONS ON REPLACING A TIMING CHAIN
Step 1:
Due to a faulty or broken timing chain, raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Drain the coolant and oil from the engine.
Step 2:
Take off the drive belt components. Remove the water pump, belt, and related accessories to access the timing chain. Lower the oil pan.
Step 3:
Detach the timing cover. Lubricate the gears before installing the new timing chain. Align the new chain with the marks on the gears and place it on. Tighten the chain according to the specifications in your car's manual.
Step 4:
Reattach the timing cover and oil pan. Reinstall the water pump, belt, and any other accessories as needed. Fill the engine with oil and coolant. Remove the vehicle from the jack stands.
