Requested this out of curiosity more than anything else. When I received it my first reaction was hey this thing is pretty nice. First let's define what this thing measures:AQI - Air Quality Index. Normally based on 5 major pollutants and is a general indication of overall air quality. Not sure for this meter. Normally Ozone, Particulates, CO2, Sulfur Dioxide and Nitrogen Dioxide.PM - Measures particulates in the air based on particle size. 3 sizes - 1.0, 2.5 and 10 micrometers.TVOC - Total Volatile Organic CompoundsHCHO - FormaldehydeCO2 - Carbon DioxideTemperature and Humidity are self explanatoryVendor indicates this measures 11 variables. I count 9 (I don't include number or alarms as measurements). Vendor supplies a USB cable which is white and doesn't match the unit's color (black). One star deduction. OK now that I've been Mr. Pissy let's get on with the review.I'd personally recommend charging the unit and then fire it up outside (in the shade and protected from moisture) for 10-15 minutes so the CO2 sensor can calibrate. Once that's done bring it inside and turn it back on. If someone plans on leaving this on it will have to be plugged into a USB brick or USB port somewhere. Running on battery alone this will run for several hours. Battery may be good for a spot check but that's about it. I can't speak to how accurate the readings are but I can say temp & humidity were spot on with other meters in my house.I did try and test the Volatile Organic Compounds by putting some Denatured Alcohol in a cup and placing it near the back of the meter. The Formaldehyde and Volatile Organic Compound readings steadily increased until the Volatile Organic Compounds ended up alarming in the red. So my take is while I don't know how accurate the readings are they do respond. My thoughts? While I may not know how accurate this is I do know what a normal reading in my house looks like (everything indicating OK in the green). If for some reason something goes catawampus I know something is wrong. That's why I think this would be a great device for people renting campers or those at a vacation rental. If your house is in the green and the rental isn't there's a reason. Net result if any rental air measurement is in the red I would get the heck out of there and demand a refund.Do you remember when FEMA had all those people in campers and it was later determined there were unacceptable levels of Formaldehyde in them? Maybe this would have given people a heads up and prevented long term exposure? An added bonus is this comes with a pretty decent manual. I'm very happy so far. I'm also very interested to try this out in my son's new car. If the results are interesting I'll be back to update.

I have tried a few air quality monitors from Amazon, and they have all been disappointing with "estimated" data coming from basically just one sensor. This air quality monitor is different, offering real CO2 and particle measurement with legitimate sensors. For CO2, the listing states that it uses an NDIR sensor which is the gold standard for small form factor accurate CO2 measurements. In my testing, the CO2 sensor is accurate and sensitive, reading about 400 PPM outdoors. If I close the door to my office, over time the CO2 climbs to over 1000 PPM and I know to open the window to ventilate a bit.For the particle counter, decent sensors use a fan to move air through them and this one is no different. If you listen closely to the back of this unit, you can hear a small fan running all the time while it is powered. I did a particle generation test wherein I tore up a tissue nearby the sensor. As I had hoped, the particle count shot up and eventually dropped back down.It was interesting to see that outdoors the particle count is higher than indoors, which seems like a good sign for my air conditioning system and its filtering capabilities. The higher particle count outdoors could be due to it being spring time with lots of pollen in the air.I tested the battery life with the screen on the lowest brightness, and it lasted 12 hours and still displayed 1/3 bars on the battery icon. It's also easy to leave this plugged in, which is what I usually do during the day.The temperature and humidity sensors appear to be decent, agreeing with my more accurate sensor by +/- 1 degrees F and +/-5% relative humidity. What could be improved:This air quality monitor comes with built-in limits for each parameter that will trigger an audible and visual alarm. It would be nice if I could set those limits myself, as I would rather know about the CO2 level rising rather than only being alerted once it is at a dangerous level. It would also be nice if the meter had some sort of logging function, either just some graphs onboard or a way to broadcast the data via wifi or bluetooth. Even just a historical max/min would be nice. As it is, it just reports the current value of each parameter. All in all, I'm happy with this as a meter that I keep on my desk and monitor myself. I would prefer to have something that I could set the alarm limits on, but for now this will work for my purposes of trying to avoid too much CO2 when I'm working long hours in my office.
