Tested and developed by the Volkl team and their children, the redesigned Racetiger GS R returns for 2024 with several impressive performance upgrades that play into the Racetiger’s no-nonsense attitude. A slightly wider shovel provides more turning support, allowing younger athletes to have more control over the placement of their turns. Increased efficiency and a decrease in time spent turning make this new shape adjustment a highly favorable attribute. As for the construction, the Racetiger GS R comes equipped with tip rocker, a full sidewall, a Speedwall Wood Core, and two full layers of titanal. Such a build is pretty standard for a race ski, but the Racetiger GS R sets itself apart as it grows in length. As the length of the ski gets longer, the thickness of the titanal and the ratio of the wood also increases, creating a ski that performs at the same level as its athlete. Older, more experienced skiers will find their ski to be perfectly tailored to their age group and skill level, while younger, less experienced skiers will find the same—but in a package that’s a bit less intimidating than its longer counterparts.
