We homeschool and this has been a great learning tool for the kids, learning is always better when you can get hands on. This has made it easy to talk about physiology and anatomy. The kids love being able to move it and touch it as we talk about things. The stand is sturdy but you can accidently pull it over. The screw that keeps the base on will loosen over time so I need to tighten it on occasion.

The big advantage of a model is that it offers any number of perspectives, ways to see shapes and relationships that are often not at all obvious from the best of drawings or cadaver photos. Not 100% sure, of course, but in a video course offered by Stanford, the orthopedic surgeon explaining the spine used a model that looked exactly like Bone Jangles. (I had a naming contest amongst my friends.)I compared Bone Jangles with a separate model of the lumbar spine, and found that the fine details were quite different. That's evidence that both models are taken from casts of real human skeletons. What more could you ask?Well, what more is the anatomical chart, which stubbornly insists on rolling itself up. I have no intention of tacking it up on the wall, and the curls make it very difficult to study pictorial details against the model itself. Could the vendor please find a way to ship the chart flat?

My 17 year old granddaughter plans on studying Osteology (the study of bones). So I thought this spine model would be the perfect gift for her on her birthday. She loves it. Easy to assemble. The stand is a little wobbly, but it does hold the spine well. When placed on the stand, the spine stands almost 3 feet tall. Perfect gift! She even brought it to school to show her teachers and friends.

Overall, I was quite impressed with this model. It looks exactly as it does in the pictures and includes many of the most notable anatomical features you would want in a model for basic demonstration or education. The structures are life size and much more detailed than I expected even after looking at the pictures. The included anatomical chart is a great addition. The pelvis and hip joints are also very detailed and accurate. It wasn't super easy to get the post into the base. It felt as though there was something preventing it from going in smoothly. The base isn't very stable. You need to be careful if you move the spine because it wants to fall over. If this is something you think you might want or need, I would definitely recommend this one. It’s a value for its cost.

Actuall, full 1:1 size model replica of the spine. Includes hip bones as well (the other model they sell doesn't FYI). Flexible and holds whatever position you set it too. Helps incredibly to understand scoliosis, the angles, impact, how it deviates from a more normal spine. Helps so mucb better than trying to interpret x-rays or MRI scans in relation to the spine. Came packed nicely and compact, well worth the price.

At 34.6 inches, this life-size spinal cord model is not just a looker but super flexible too. It's like having an anatomical yoga master in your study room. Whether you're a med student cramming for exams or a curious learner, this spine won't disappoint. It bends, it twists, and it shows you all the nitty-gritty details you need to ace that anatomy quiz or simply satisfy your inner science geek. Two thumbs up for this one!

I was shocked at the accuracy of this model in relation to the price it is offered. I have worked my adult life in the medical field and we use models like this regularly for discussing medical issues. It is complete with the soft-molded artery, nerves, and discs. It is fully flexible and can be disassembled. It took a bit of adjustment to get it back into alignment, but it's nice and straight. The only issue I had was with a screw that came loose during shipping but I luckily found it in the box (which wasn't well sealed). My daughter is leaving for university in the fall for the Biology program and she was excited to see it. I think it's a great deal and absolutely accurate. I fully attest to the quality of this model.
