My initial reaction upon opening the package is that these were made of a too-hard plastic. I was concerned that they might crack if dropped. (Just seemed brittle.) But, I don’t think that is the case. These aren’t “heavy duty”, nor are they priced that way. They are replacing an old 1950's era plug that is heavy-duty, but at the same time, has exposed metal strain relief that always make me think I'm going to get electrocuted.The plug is made of metal and plastic. Metal for the prongs, terminals/lugs, & screws, and plastic for the chassis, internal strain relief, and cover. The 3 terminals have metal screws that thread into metal crush plates, so you don’t have to wrap the wire leads around the terminals. Just loosen the screws, insert the stripped wire, and tighten down. Seemed very secure. The ground terminal was of a slightly different design that worked equally well. My ONLY other concern was that the strain relief clamp inside the housing has metal screws threading into the plastic chassis. I don’t think you get more than 1 or 2 tries to tighten the screws before you strip them out.I chose to put some silicon adhesive caulk on the cord (I placed the adhesive on the cord where it gets covered by the ribbed back end of the chassis) in an effort to glue the cord into the plug. My concern is that the strength of the strain relief inside the plug is so-so. Hoping this helps prolong the longevity of the connection as not everyone pulls a plug out of a socket by gripping ONLY the plug. Way too many cord pullers out there.PROS: precise fit, well-finished cover.CONS: questionable plastic choices, especially for internal strain reliefACCURACY OF AMAZON LISTING: highBOTTOM LINE: Not premium, but not expensive either. Should do the job.Of course, I’ll update this review should anything change.

These are nice female plug ends. We have a number of long extension cords that get used regularly. Usually when one goes bad it is due to one of the ends becoming worn and losing the connection. These will be an easy, inexpensive fix for them. Much better than buying a new cord. They are extremely easy to install. One screw exposes the three wiring plates (hot, neutral, ground) all of which have their own screw that pinches the wire and holds tightly. Replace the cover, tighten down the screw, and you're done.

These were supposed to be female 3 prong Edison plugs. What arrived were 3 prong male plugs.The quality is acceptable, not top notch nor total garbage either. Good mid range quality. They work as you would expect and are good to have around for repairs to your extension cords or to make up custom length cords.Good price, now to get the other ends!Here is how I rate items:5 Stars = Exceeds all expectations, A definite buy! (Very Rare)4 Stars = Very good find, you should definitely give it a shot.3 Stars = It works and functions as advertised.2 Stars = A little scary, possibly OK, it may work out.1 Stars = Avoid this product, not worth the effort.

Don’t buy item it is poorly designed for connecting the three wires. The item does not distinguish the negative & positive connections. Both connecting screws are silver. The standard is copper & silver screws. The only way to determine the correct connector is to use multimeter (ohms).I would not recommend the purchase of item!
