How to Choose a Battery Backup Unit for UFO LED High Bay Lights?
- 1. Compatibility with UFO LED High Bay Lights Ensure the battery backup unit is compatible with your UFO LED high bay lights in terms of wattage, voltage, and driver type.
- 2. Emergency Power & Duration Check the wattage output of the BBU to ensure it provides sufficient brightness during a power outage. Standard emergency backup units typically power the fixture at 10W–30W for 90–180 minutes. Choose based on your safety and operational requirements.
- 3. Battery Type & Lifespan Look for high-quality lithium-ion or LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries for better performance and longevity. Consider units with a self-testing feature to ensure the battery remains in optimal condition.
- 4. Voltage & Wiring Requirements Ensure the input and output voltage of the BBU matches the voltage of your LED high bay light (e.g., 120-277V or 347-480V). Verify whether it supports AC or DC power and follows your installation setup.
- 5. Safety & Compliance Certifications Choose a battery backup unit that meets UL or local emergency lighting codes for safety and compliance.
- 6. Ease of Installation & Maintenance Consider whether the BBU is integrated into the high bay fixture or requires external mounting.
