MTE-THOMSON 5106 Sensor de Temperatura del aire ambiente MTE-THOMSON 5106 Air Charge Temperature Sensor

MTE-THOMSON's air charge temperature sensor informs to the ECU the exact temperature of the ingested air to be mixed with the fuel, since the electronic injection seeks the perfect combustion – that is, the stoichiometric mixture of those two elements. Located at many parts of the engine and connected electronically to the ECU, this highly accurate sensor is made with ceramics and uses the technology of the thermistor – a semiconductor sintered at more than 1400 oC, with silver connectors protected by a special brass alloy and precisely fitting electric contacts.

About MTE Thomson

The history of MTE-THOMSON begins under the name MTE, Metalúrgica Termo-Elétrica (Thermo-Electric Metallurgy), in 1957, coinciding with the birth of the automotive industry in Brazil. With plenty of dedication and courage, the company has earned its place as one of the main Brazilian suppliers of auto parts. In 1975, the joint venture with Thomson International Co. led to the production of thermostats. Since then, MTE-THOMSON has established itself as a specialist in products for engine temperature control. In 1990, MTE-THOMSON incorporated automotive ceramics in its technology, thus becoming the only manufacturer of PTC and NTC thermistors in Latin America. In 2001, it became the first manufacturer of oxygen sensors in Brazil. Today, after 200 million parts produced and offering more than 3,000 different items, MTE-THOMSON has one of the most complete temperature control and engine management product lines, supplying both OEM and aftermarket customers in more than 100 countries.
