So Far, this item looks good, Very Compact... If I could make one change to it, would be to have a couple holes on the bottom to have screw holes to mount it to wall... But that is minor.... Not going ding them on a preference. These seem to work well.

OK, well, I'm not clueless - I've worked in and adjacent to networking for 25+ years, but mainly at the TCP/IP level (i.e. the internet/transport/application layers) , generally getting to take the ethernet layers (link and below) as given. Having said that - I've pulled my share of UTP, set up switches, hubs, routers, etc.Never have I ever worked with fiber, of any flavor, until very recently. And I don't really want to - but fiber has some characteristics that make it really attractive - I can run fiber with little concern for moisture intrusion, without much concern for lighting following it back to my network, and for really long distances. So I have a few fiber runs planned for my network - some immediate, some longer term. This turned out to be just what I needed ... I honestly am not sure if MMF is the BEST choice for my application(s), but it's certainly appropriate, and this pair of converters made it nearly trivial to implement a run. The fact that they run on just 5VDC/1A means I can really expand my reach - I can easily run one off of a small solar panel, like one of those with the battery built in, meant for the little IP security cameras, and so forth. So - if you need to run a length of fiber, but you don't want to have to become an expert - these are a good choice.

I got these not for the obvious benefits that come from running fiber for extended distances, but instead, I got these because I live in a lighting prone area of the country. Most people probably don't know this, but if you get a nearby lightning strike, the EMP from it can come in on your longer runs of copper Ethernet cables and can blow out everything connected to them. This is because the long Ethernet wire runs act like an antenna. The cost of running fiber is minuscule compared to the potential losses that can be incurred from a nearby lighting strike.I also like the idea of buying converters and SFP modules in pairs because that helps to reduce the likelihood of any potential incompatibilities. These converters come with a power supply for each converter, but I have to admit, I would have liked it better if they had used standard USB C power supplies instead. That would have made it much easier to replace a bad power supply, should one of them ever go bad in the future. The important thing to remember with these particular converters is that they don't come with the required SFP modules, so you will need to plan ahead and buy them separately. I like this system better than the ones that have the modules built in because it is more versatile. This way if you ever want to change to another kind of fiber system in the future, or use these converters somewhere else, you can still reuse them with the new system.Another important thing to keep in mind is that these converters are only good up to 1 Gigabit, so make sure you are buying the correct converters and SFP modules for your network setup.Setup is very easy with these converters, just plug in the power supplies, plug in the appropriate SPF modules, plug in your fiber and you are good to go. Everything should be auto-negotiated, assuming you are using a matched pair of SFP modules that are compatible with one another. It doesn't get much easier than this. These Ethernet Media Converters from XZSNET are a recommended buy.

I did a quick test of this converter at my house, in order to connect two access points that are located far apart from each other. The environment is probably not the most demanding to give a well-founded opinion, but so far and after almost 2 months of use I can say that it has worked without problems, in fact, I had forgotten that it was connected there.

These media converters work flawlessly for converting fiber to Ethernet. They are easy to set up, plug-and-play, and offer reliable performance. The build quality is solid, making them a great addition to any network that needs a flexible connection between fiber and Ethernet.

I used these media converters to bury about 600ft of fiber optic lines and get my Starlink(with LTE backup) connection to my neighbor for an emergency backup internet as their current connection is unreliable and they have a pacemaker which needs to send updates to their doctor. So far, it has worked flawlessly for months. The connection isn't exactly being stressed as she is elderly and doesn't have much for internet demands but I have traffic monitoring on the port and can tell that she dabbles in streaming services from time to time and haven't heard any complaints on the speed. This is such a great option for long distances over ethernet as no POE is necessary.

I have a number of buildings along a stretch of land -- a couple cabins, an office, the solar shed. It's helpful to have internet available across the property, so I have wifi routers in a few of the buildings. We get fiber optic internet into the building closest to the road, and have a few additional segments of fiber between each of the buildings. I assembled the system over a few years so some of the segments are using different cable types. I have a number of media converters deployed, and I got these as drop in replacements should any of them fail. Because they're SFP I can just swap in the connector I need! All of my XZSNET media converters have worked well, they don't use much energy and don't get too hot. No configuration required, just plug it up and get on with it.
