On one hand, the fountain is suitable for Above and In-ground Pools. On the other hand, if you want a strong powerful spray it will be dependent on your pool pump! 0.75HP sand pump injection distance up to 10 meters, 0.1HP/1000 gallons / 80W ordinary filter pump (HP = 80/745.7) injection distance of about 4 meters, 0.02HP/530 gallons / 15W ordinary filter pump can not be sprayed at all. It is recommended that you use a filter pump of at least 0.2hp and above.

I purchased this as an addition to my Funsicle 12' 3500/Gal. above ground pool, BUT it did not fit the outlet. I had to purchase a adapter. It is great so far. I can adjust how much water I want to come out or if I want to completely turn off. It can spray clear across to the other side of the pool. Here is the link for the other part. This does an amazing job of lowering the pool temp 6°-8° degrees on hot summer days. Easily hooks up to the pools supply line coming from the filter pump. Adjust angle and distance of the fountain as well.
