The good is that this is a STRONG stand. It easily handles my old 17.3" Dell Win7 laptops without sagging or deforming. The bad is that this is clearly designed for newer laptops with their slim and light design.The retainers that hold the front of the laptop are too short to actually keep the laptop from sliding when the stand is tipped. The friction pads on the stand mostly prevent movement but there's nothing to physically hold the laptop. See photo showing the retainers clearly below the front edge of my laptop.Also, the base plate of the stand needs to be bigger. With heavier devices, the weight causes the entire stand to tip up at the front. See the photo showing the stand at a modest height and angle, and then the closeup showing the front of the stand tipping upward. Actually, for heavier devices, both the base and laptop plates need to be bigger.Were the stand less strong, this would be a 1, maybe 2, star item for my particular needs. But, with older 17.3" laptops, it's usable over a small range of heights and angles so, 3 stars.

What a find! I’m thrilled I came across this. Excellent tablet or iPad stand. Very sturdy and attractive looking. Adjusts to virtually every possible position you would want to use. Low profile and compact. Perfect for small desk areas.

I received the "OTREST Adjustable Laptop Stand for Desk, Foldable Lightweight Aluminum Alloy Laptop Riser with 22lb/10kg Load Capacity, Ergonomic Computer Stand Holder for All 10"-17.3" Notebooks/Tablets, CP01S"This laptop stand has a moderately flexible base, but the arms and platform the laptop sits on is strong. There is no issue with it not holding its height no matter how much your laptop weighs. I set an older heavy Lenovo E540 laptop on it and it didn't budge.My only caveat is that some laptop bottom vents will be covered by the design of the laptop platform. It will depend on the laptop. Also, the Lenovo E540 initially tested this with is not a good fit for the stand. It's fine however for a Lenovo T410. It just depends on where your intake fan vents are located on the botom of your laptop.It's a little pricey but it does the job.

I was on the hunt for a laptop/tablet stand that I could travel with, but I found a lot of options seemed kinda flimsy. I’m so excited I found this laptop stand—it’s made from aluminum alloy, no plastic! It feels stable, reliable, and surprisingly strong. It also looks minimal and professional, so I'm proud to use it wherever I am.My laptop is pretty light, but it held up under heavier ones too. Plus, it folds basically completely flat! Perfect for what I needed. ✨💻

Exactly what I needed and best price under $10 is a great deal for this stand. My online calls are much better because of this!!
