Extremely pleased with this purchase. I live in a very small apartment and truly have no storage space. This file cabinet serves 2 purposes for me. I use it as my TV console and for all filing needs. I keep my laptop in it as well. I don't have to be concerned about security issues with important paperwork or my laptop because both drawers lock at the same time. The price is reasonable, sturdiness is commercial quality, roomy, easy setup, received quickly. Looks like a piece of furniture considering how I have incorporated it into my living space. I would highly recommend without reservation.

I have used large upright files for years, but this was a lateral file for a study. This is an excellent file, and the company response when the first file was damaged was excellent. I think it is important to know that the full weight is the file, and to have a plan to move it, if you are in a residential setting Also, directions for removing the drawers are not included in materials with the file. Doing the drawer removal isn't simply a matter of lifting them and tilting them out, and removal makes it possible for two ordinary people to move it.The drawer control engineering seems a weak point. We had minor problem with the mechanism that controls drawer opening (designed to prevent both drawers from being opened at the same time.) This function seems to be controlled by a plastic insert at the left bottom drawer slide. Without too much detail, that insert was broken with a small piece cracked off. Putting it back together with glue didn't hold, and we ended up removing a small metal tab on the mechanism to inactivate this feature.The company was great to deal with -- the initial file had shipping damage, and we got immediate response, replacement and return, with excellent contact via email. I would definitely order from the company again. I would order the file, if I had ready help to move something of this weight.

I shopped around for file cabinets at several of the large office supply stores. I was really surprised at how flimsy and cheaply made they were...and they were expensive. I found this filing cabinet for a little more than 1/2 the price of the comparable sized cabinets found in the office stores and it is head and shoulders better in quality.This is a heavy duty, well made cabinet. But understand IT IS HEAVY! It is not that cheap flimsy pot metal you would find at Office Max or Staples. This is a heavy item. It will require a couple strong people to get it into the house.My last comment is that shipping, while not cheap, was great. The item arrived in one day! I do live fairly close to Chicago where the warehouse is located but that was extremely quick even for a reasonably close proximity. They delivered the cabinet into my garage. It was extremely well packaged and arrived without a scratch.Great item. Highly recommended.

I am totally pleased with this 2-drawer black lateral file cabinet. After two decades of a very inexpensive wood-type front-to-back file cabinet, finally decided to upgrade. It is solid, very well made and blends in very well with my home office. The drawers work great and one cannot open both drawers at the same time which is a great safety feature. It also comes with keys to lock it if needed. It is made to be on a slope with an adjustment of front screws, but don't do any adjusting until you see how it works beforehand. I asked my husband to adjust screws as the instructions seemed to call for, and now it's a tad too much, so he has to undo his adjustment as the drawer wants to close when you don't want it to, but that's our mistake and easily fixed. It comes with the hanging file rails! There seems to be some confusion on this from what I've read, but it comes complete. It seems to me that this is heavy enough and solid enough for any type of use, unless one plans to file bricks.Have to note it was shipped very quickly, just as shipper said it would be. It arrived on a wood pallet, super well wrapped & boxed. It turned out there were a couple of scratches on the front, hardly noticeable, but when I contacted the seller and sent the pictures as requested, they immediately took care of it. So, I am totally happy with my new file cabinet, it works great and wasn't out of my price range.

Arrived promptly. They contact you on phone to arrange the delivery time and in my case it came in a big 18 wheel truck for delivery. They told me it's a curb side delivery and I will have to move it to my appt after they off load it in the parking lot. I was caught by surprise and had to refuse the delivery as I had nothing to move this big box to my appt from the parking lot by myself. Then I bought a flat bed on wheels and reordered the product but this time they delivered it to my door in the midst of a slight rain, without even me asking for it. Anyway I can still use the flat bed for other stuff. It's a big package but it's not that heavy and I managed to move it inside my bouse bymyself but with the help of those sliding pads underneath. Good file space. Almost 99.9% already assembled and all you have to do is to hang side rails. Nice looks with a whole lot better quality then what you would get at office stores for more price. Its more than enough for my current and future needs. Highly recommend it!Update 1/26/2017, after 5 years of purchase and daily use: Still going great! Just like new. This is an excellent product and works so well. You can't go wrong with it. 5 star product!! Highly recommend it!
