Amana is a brand I am familiar with and have bought some of their router bits (for my router table and plunge router) and accessories in the past and since I just recently got a small hobby CNC machine, I am getting a collection of bits for that machine. This is a great addition and works extremely well.

I've used quite a few Amana bits over the years, and this one is a good example of the breed. It's razor sharp, and coated in their "spectra" coating that is supposed to improve the life of the cutter. I haven't really noticed any specific difference between the coated and uncoated bits, they both cut like razor blades and last a darn long time. This is a compression spiral, by the way, which isn't really mentioned in the advert, with a small tip up-cut portion, and the bulk of the cutter down cut. Perfect for CNC work!

You ask any machinist, fabricator, mold/patternmaker or woodworker and they'll confirm Amana is the company they trust for quality cutting tools.Bits are expertly machined with no tolerance for error and the cuts definitely reflect this quality and dedication.Their carbide cutting bits are absolutely incredible and this Spektra product line takes this to an entirely new level.I'm so pleased with this bit, I really can't recommend them enough! As with any tool, knowing the operating specifications is absolutely crucial to keep their production life long and strong. Although these bits can work extremely hard and really take larger cuts than most, I would always recommend shallow cuts utilizing ample coolany/cutting fluid and make your adjustments best suited for bit longevity. Never push your cutting bit too hard or too fast, opting for patience and accuracy above all. Flooding with Coolant/cutting fluid keeps the swarf out of your cut, allowing the bit to cut fresh material only and not struggle or heat up having re-cut removed material. Often, swarf can be slightly harder than the original material as sometimes during the cutting process it becomes hot and can work-harden. Removing this from your cutting surface really helps your tool life.Amana is a trustworthy company that places quality above all else. There are definitely lower priced options available, many of whom are actually decent products, but if you really want the best and demand the best results, Amana should be at the top of your list.

One of my "go-to" bits in CNC routing. Does a nice job both roughing out and outline cutting.

I've been very satisfied with this bit. It is working extremely well. I've used it for over two dozen cuts so far, in both hard wood and soft wood with no issues or dulling. The bit is still sharp, and I've had no issues with catching or burning. Overall, the bit is excellent quality, and I expect to last a long time.

Tried one of these 3/8" shank 7/8" CEL compression end mills since they were about 30% cheaper than the Vortex comparable 3400 series tools we run. Started getting chips in the finished material about 12 sheets into the job. Went back to our used/reasonably worn (25 sheets or so through it already) Vortex 3485 and no chip out. The Amana bits great but for us just didn't hold up.

The items in the description is completely different from what I received. I ordered a Spektra bit with the rainbow coating, what i received is not the same. Very disappointed in everything about this right now. Will be contacting for a return and a the correct bit sent to me.
