I am impressed with the portability and lightness of this powerful light panel. The case is well-designed, packing everything neatly along with several accessories. However, the softbox is almost unusable. The light itself is remarkable, emitting a substantial amount of light. Diffusion material is essential as the bare light is quite harsh. The softbox frame, designed to fit tightly around the light frame, lacks elasticity, making it incredibly difficult to attach. After about half an hour of trial and error, I managed to secure it. Once in place, the diffusion material filters the light effectively, and the additional grid focuses the light well.Navigating through the menu to access the special features is intuitive, and the range of options enhances the light's utility. The fan is very quiet once the light reaches its operating temperature.Overall, this light is very useful, especially as an accent or hair light, and offers good value at its price point. Unfortunately, the time-consuming process of attaching the softbox is a significant design flaw that Amaran needs to address.

It's a shame as I want to give this 5 stars, but there's a few very annoying quirks.First off it's probably one of the brightest battery operated RGB lights out there - surpassing a lot of 300W Cob Leds from a meter. The included softbox is a nice touch and certainly works well enough for portable solutions, but keep it close to your talent as it's too small to compete with a proper 3 foot softbox for interviews. For desklights and VLOGs with the light and softbox 1-2 feet away, you're gucci. Now some really bad design flaws:The swivel attachment is TOO WOBBLY - you'll see this on YouTube reviews and feel it's understated. You put accessories on this thing - the softbox, the barndoor set (sold separately), a battery bank...it will be OVERLY wobbly...take it outside (cuz it's on battery) and wind will make this thing a mess. It's HIGHLY ANNOYING and will make people anxious and not good optics if you're on a paid shoot. The battery life is trial and error - the light gives inaccurate readings on battery power. You put in a third party battery bank (because the first party battery isn't out yet...odd) and it'll say the max power is 70 percent but can go up to 100 just fine...or a battery that should have AMPLE power to do 100 percent will be capped off at 45 percent...this is with a 140plus wattage USBC cable and output as well...very nerve racking that you have to test battery life before hand and can't go by math by reading power outputs on your battery banks. Forget DTap V Mounts via a DTAP to AC cable - those usually max out at 14volts for the DTap and this is a 24V light...I wouldn't try a 26V Vmount...If you have a V Mount with USBC output - those usually only do 100w...if you're lucky, and will probably get half power for 40 mins for example depending on the specs of the V Mount...which you'll have to check beforehand. The first party battery, the Amaran Peak, is NOT OUT YET...maybe that solves some of the battery life reading issues...MAYBE it fixes the wobbly ace lock issues...but Amaran said it only does 40 minutes at full power for this light...third party battery banks that are somewhat cheap can do more than that (of course the menu will say capped off at 70 percent for some reason...ugh)...but if you need a third party battery I tested the ifootage pd140 and it does full power for 55 minutes at 100 percent but you'll get a 70 percent warning that's false. Very odd and makes me think they rushed this out to beat tariffs. The FX are included but don't give you the ability to customize colors - ie the fire effect is shoddy as it will mix in cool light and not look like fire and you can't change the hues...just pre sets colors.Aside from that, it's an awesome light and one of my favorites...but HIGHLY ANNOYING as you'll have to invest a bit more cash for battery options...which is what this light was made for - portability...but probably the most annoying light ever in terms of batteries.

Versatile and bright lighting setup which can be used as a main light, a fill or for effects (which are programmed into the unit.) It fits easily on a standard tripod mount (tripod not included) and can be powered by mains with the included power pack or by battery (not included) using a standard C USB (at 140W) or even any 24 volt power source using the same polarized barrel plug as the power pack.A small screen and knob give you the various options you can dial in (for example, simulating fireworks, a TV flicker or even a cop car) and the range of temp, color and intensity is infinitely variable. You can throw a lot of light with this and an internal fan will keep it cool as needed (but can be silenced as well.)Comes with a very organizing soft carry attache which holds the other accessories (a diffuser and a hood) snugly for travel. It's a solid piece of equipment and has some weight but I think good camera equipment usually has a bit of heft.Control by bluetooth is possible and straightforward.I took off a star because the included barrel plug for the battery pack keeps slipping out of the socket--I needed to tape it in with a bit of gaffer's tape--something I don't think should be a problem with a piece of equipment this pricey and otherwise well made.Accessing the various functions is simple and straightforward, there is no learning curve.

After buying the 25c, I wanted something bigger which this does amazingly with the included soft diffuser. One thing is that it has to be plugged in at all times. Which I’m confused why because the smaller versions can be charged at the similar size and thickness ratio.

I own three or four Amaran lights now and they all have been great. This is the most expensive one that I own by far, but the portability versus light output is awesome. Even the small, much less expensive lights I have from them all have well made carry cases to keep all the included accessories neatly organized. I can’t stand when a company releases a good product only to skimp on that. What good does it do if I lose half of the parts to it.The options on the light itself is essentially the same as every other light similar to this. You can dial in an exact color temperature or just choose a basic color. I have no idea about the color accuracy so look at other reviews if that is important to you.Since this is advertised as a portable light, it would be awesome if they included some sort of battery pack for using it unplugged. It does support USB-C PD though, so that is good.

Can’t believe so much hype on this product. There are many better alternatives. I returned the item after few days. The grid is a pain to fit on n the inability to use as a stand alone without wires is a deal breaker.
