Frequently Asked Questions

ASS SAVER

  • Does it really work? It does. However, it's important to understand that an Ass Saver will never do the same job as a standard mudguard for obvious reasons. It will get you there dry by eliminating the spray where it is most annoying and most concentrated, namely your derriere. You might still receive dirt spray on your back but not enough to make you uncomfortably wet.
  • How do I know if it will fit my bike? The Ass Savers fits about 95% of all standard railing saddles, also saddles with carbon rails. As a general rule, the less special "design" features your saddle has the more likely it is to fit.
  • My Ass Saver doesn't perform as expected, am I doing something wrong? To receive the best protection it is important that the Ass Saver is as level as possible. The more it is tilting downwards, the less protection it offers. If you are shorter than 160 cm it can also reduce the protection.
  • My Ass Saver has been distorted, what can I do? Polypropylene is a thermoplastic and will return to most of it's original shape if exposed to heat. We hypothetically recommend ironing on LOW heat between 2 towels but since ironing is extremely dangerous we can of course not take any sort of responsibility for damage to property or people.
  • It looks flimsy, how long will it last? The fold should last many thousand times and the plastic can eventually become brittle especially if exposed to the sun too much. Some color fading can also occur but we are talking years, not weeks. If you feel disappointed, just give us a shout and we'll sort you out.
  • What do I do with the Ass Saver once it's dead? PP or polypropylene is a standard packaging material and we strongly recommend that you throw it in the same recycling bin as you would put your everyday plastic packaging.
  • I have a saddle bag, will the Ass Saver fit? There are a myriad of saddle bag models, that all connect in different ways, so there's no general answer. The new model has been designed to interfere as little as possible with a saddle bag and mostly you can get to fit, even if you have to trim the Ass Saver a bit.
  • Does it fit with carbon rails? Yes, the new Ass Saver Regular and Big fits perfectly on carbon rail saddles.

This overpriced laminated plastic sheet does not provide coverage as advertised. It is apparently meant to be used with a saddle only. The quality of this product is cheap - I do not recommend the purchase of this product, please look at other protectors.

A roadie's friend: discreetly keeps your backside dry-ish on those iffy days when light rain's a possibility but you don't want to deal with heavy, ugly, awkward fenders. Won't help much in heavy rain, and won't help anyone sitting in your slipstream. Quick and easy to jam into your saddle rails, and you're off.

雨上がりの路面の時に使ってます。そんなに効果があると思ったことは無いですが、取付け取り外しも簡単だしこんなものでしょうね。一本、リュックに入れておくと良いと思います。

Easy to fit. Prevents the spray from the rear tyre hitting your back. Simple but effective

Depending on the configuration of your bike, it may be of limited use as it may interfere with your brakes.

If you actually fold this back and tick it into the seat when you're not using it (as shown in some adverts) then this fender will actually crack right down the middle. Best to always use and store this thing flat (or buy a competitor to this product - ie: mudguard, which I've just purchased but haven't tried yet).
