About Astromania Dovetail Mounting Base

  • This specialized dovetail mounting base fits any any diameter refractor, reflector, Dobsonian reflector and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope tubes. It is not suitable for SCT telescopes that require wider screw hole spacing.

  • Compliable with finder scope, Laser Pointer bracket or reflex sight bracket on telescopes, great for adding a second or third aiming device to your telescope. The dovetail base accepts the bracket of all Astromania finder scopes and EZ Finder reflex sights.

Easy to Install

The Dovetail Base for Finder Scopes features a large thumbscrew lock to secure the finder scope bracket in place. Thanks to the size of the knurled thumbscrews, you can easily attach and detach your finder device, even when wearing heavy gloves. There are two attachment screws to hold it to your optical tube assembly. Just put it on the optical tube and tighten the screws.

Aluminium Alloy Material

Precision machined dovetail base in matte black, made of high strength aluminum with anodizing aluminium process, durable for long time use. Aluminum material is lighter than other metal materials and more convenient to carry.

Well-Designed in Shape

Drilled (but not threaded) to accommodate screws up to 4mm in diameter. Center-to-center screw hole spacing on your telescope must be 20mm (0.79") in order for this dovetail base to be compatible. The groove design facilitates the insertion of the finder scope and the red dot finderscope, making the connection more stable.
