How to know if your needle needs to be replaced
- The needle is a wear and tear item with a normal service life of about 300-400 hours, except for damage caused by careless operation.

There is no better cartridge at this price range. They’ve been making this cartridge since the 1970’s and it’s great. It makes a very full, warm sound that has lots of upgradeability options. The 3600L conical stylus sounds decent for $10 if you just want functionality, but the elliptical styli for the cartridge sound good, especially considering they’re only about $30-$40 each, respectively. The best two if you’d like to upgrade for more mids and highs clarity are the Audio Technica AT3600LE and the LP Gear 3600LE. If you want to stick to even cheaper conical styli, you can go with the AT91R for a noticeable upgrade as well.Love it, will always use this cartridge. Don’t fall into the money trap that is more expensive styli - you’ll spend an ever increasing amount of money looking for better and better sound that, frankly, you can achieve 90% of that sound quality with this cheap Audio Technica cartridge. Put it on a good quality turntable and enjoy your music for decades.

Cartridge did not come with mounting hardware, despite being in the listing for the product. It’s a good thing I looked specifically for a cartridge that included the screws since I didn’t have any.

The screws and nuts clearly listed in the description where not included in the sealed package. I haven't mounted it yet, but I'm more than a little annoyed that parts are missing.If you need the mounting screws and nuts, buy something else.

Let me start by saying: once I got it attached, it works just fine. That being said, the listing says it comes with the mounting screws. This is false. The only reason I was able to attach it is because I held onto the mounting screws from the old cartridge. If you already have screws, that's great. If not, find a different product listing.

This little fella sounds surprisingly good! I purchased it to play some old, damaged inherited vinyl so as not to ruin my Nagaoka and I can’t believe the quality for price! It will never take the place of a higher quality cartridge but for damaged bingo, it sounds great and hides light damage due to the conical stylus. Excellent budget cart!

This cartridge with elliptical stylus are a great value in renewing older components. The tracking force works well between 2.0 and 2.5 gm. I use this in an older TT that is used to “clean up” older, less optimal LPs with a heavier tracking force of 3.0. When the LPs appeared reasonably cleaned, they are played on another TT with a higher end cartridge.Overall, this cartridge works well and offers a great value.

While some may consider this a minor issue, no screws are included despite being shown in the product photos. If I had known that, I would have purchased a different item.
