Had this alternator installed on my truck for the less than two years and it caught fire. Diodes and back cover were cooked. Luckily noticed flames quick and put fire out. Would not recommend this alternator.

So far so good! This alternator has been working great for me even at idea it stays around 14 volts.

I have purchased an updated distributor for the same vehicle of A team performance brand. Their prices were incredible, sounded too good to be true. It paid off as I have purchased 2 distributors that have been great and now this alternator. I chose this alternator due to it's low price and that I have had great experiences with A Team in the past. So far this alternator is great pumps out plenty of power.

Easy upgrade. Hardest part was finding a belt that worked. I tried the 1” longer that everyone online said to use wasn’t long enough. Only2 wires were needed. One main large gauge wire from starter and one key on power to “I/f” connection.

Going into the purchase of this alternator I had the feeling that due to its price compared to name-brand competitors with high-output alternators that there would be some issues.Installation on my 2002 GMC Yukon XL was extremely easy, a 10 minute job if even that. Everything bolted up, the regulator connector was correct, with no assembly needed, just install right out of the box. The truck has a bone stock 5.3L gas LM7 with a full intake, exhaust, and flash tune, as well as a 6AWG alternator output wire and slightly longer belt than stock to accommodate the slightly taller case of the upgraded alternators than the original. Belt tension is in optimal range, and the tensioner was replaced at the same time as the alternator. The paint on the case is fine, the pulley look and quality is fantastic. The output stud is the same size as a stock alternator with half the output. The case width where it slots into the bracket is slightly smaller than the alternator that I replaced this with; the spacers very nearly didn't have the length to take up the slack, but the belt lined up fine so it's whatever. The box says "made in China", yet the listing page states: "Assembled and packaged in the USA". Which one is it? If I had to guess based on the quality of the alternator, it would be the former. I have significant doubts that it will last, or that I will even want it to last, the 5 years the 145amp AC Delco unit it's replacing made it.This alternator will not charge much if at all at idle. Once the engine is warmed up, the idle RPM is about 550-600. Under 650, the charging voltage is negligible with little-to-no loads with the voltage at or below 13v. I submitted a ticket to support to see if the alternator was defective, but they assured me that is fine. Based on prior alternators on the truck as well as what I know as a professional mechanic, anything under 13.5v is not really ideal. Thankfully, one of the alternators I had on hand had a smaller pulley (2" compared to 2.25" diameter), so I swapped them out and now the alternator is charging at ~14.2v at ~550RPM. Still, with a sizeable load, the voltage drops to the point where it appears like there is very little charging current being supplied at least at idle. Unfortunately, I do not have the equipment to directly measure the current being supplied, but based on a comparison with the prior alternator(s) the truck has had, this one is wildly underperforming at idle even compared to a 145amp AC Delco alternator. In comparison, the secondhand Iraggi unit on the truck awhile back barely dropped voltage at idle unless the 2000w inverter was being used near full capacity. For someone who does mobile mechanic work and uses the truck for overland camping, the idle performance of this unit is greatly disappointing.Even before the pulley swap, it should be noted that this alternator is VERY NOISY. For me, it's not that big of a deal since the stereo is pretty much perpetually on, but for others that might be annoying to constantly hear a high pitched whine. If this alternator is going on a manual transmission (higher RPM at idle) LS-swapped vehicle, you'll probably never notice these issues. Otherwise, proceed with caution.

The paint/powdercoat is actually really nice for the price. Install was simple. Went on a 5.3 ls. Charges at 14.7 all day long. I’ve also washed engine bay multiple times with still no issue. Highly recommend!

Fit on my 2002 Chevy Express Van (5.7L Vortec). Placement was tight, had to bend the bracket that holds the dip stick and oil fill line. DMM reads 14.03V at idle. Battery gauge on the dash definitely increased as the gas was pressed. Didnt test but I guess its outputting every bit of 14.7V under throttle. Putting the belt back on was a bit of a struggle, the pulley on the new alternator was slightly larger than the original.
