I bought a shogun at BH photo in 3/2029. The unit died in 9/2019 and ATOMOS customer service was expeditious in replacing the unit. The replaced unit stopped working and now I have trouble getting answers from their support. It takes them 2-3 days to respond to an email, always with more questions, and then taking another 2-3 days to respond. If this is going to be critical to your work or livelihood, be careful and consider other options. When (not if) this units breaks, you will be fighting their terrible support.

I debated between getting this and the BM 12G video assist. I have all the accessories from a previous Shogun that died on me that I loved. I wish Atomos still offered the Shogun 7 as it was able to view and record 4 camera sources. The 7 also had the ability (or inability) to accept a RAW camera file (without recording RAW on device) in 4K and output an HD file with LUT for Broadcast. I was able to give the Editors an in-camera RAW recording, 4K with no LUT, and broadcast an HD with LUT applied. The Connect only records RAW when receiving a RAW signal. The new wireless streaming features are almost useless for most if you don't mind paying for the Cloud service. It's free to stream to YT and FB, but I have better ways of doing that through my computer. To me at this point, it's just a 12G test monitor

I returned it cuz I couldn't find any useful "how to" guides online and couldn't get it to connect wirelessly to my Komodo for the life of me.iPad and iPhones connect so easily via wifi and allow remote control so I would imagine a product that costs 1k could do that easily, but no ...

Shooting ProRes raw is next level. Use this with the Zcam f6 and It’s blowing my mind. This monitor is almost perfect. Easy to use, bright, clear. It does burn batteries pretty fast, but that’s to be understood with its brightness and Functionality. Some complained that not all of the functions were enabled, but most have been. And there’s more to come. Totally recommend this so far.
