Introduction:

  • About the size of a cellular telephone, the Sonic Tension Meter can easily be operated by one person for fast, accurate readings on all types of synchronous belt drive systems and V belt drives.
  • Use the standard cord sensor to reach inside cramped compartments where conventional measurements would be impossible.
  • With the Sonic Tensioner, you can get consistent, accurate tension test data without the need to press down hard. The Sonic Tensioner measures the tension of a belt by the frequency of the sound waves that vibrate through the belt. All you need to do is gently pluck the belt, like a guitar string, and you can easily read the data.
  • Incorrect belt tension can lead to: bearing damage, belt runout and overheating, shortened belt and component life, and energy consumption.

Application:

  • The Sonic Belt Tensioner can test most types of belts, such as v-belts (V-belt series), fabric covered belts, toothed edge belts, multi-vinged belts, interlocking belts, timing belts and power transmission belts, helping you to measure belt tension quickly, reliably and accurately.
