The black retaining nut only fits one way…. Apparently this is to give a more attractive tapered lookHowever this little nut is a royal pain in the neck to install. It keeps wanting to go on cross threadedAnd because of the tapered design the knurled part can be very difficult to tighten down or to remove if near other switches
