Biolite Solar 10+ will not charge at 92F in direct noonday sun, even on a cool grass surface. It will actually get so hot as to kill the grass.Second replacement unit performed the same way. Noonday sun, no charge. The factory recommendation to charge the internal battery overnight and then leave the unit in the sun for 12 hours doesn’t work either.This unit, in summer Texas weather, is not reliable.

It takes several hours to fully charge the attached battery and that only gives you about 5% to 10% charge on a cell phone. We tried it with several different mobile phones in our home and each time you only get about a 5% charge before the onboard battery dies.

Took this on a hike and it only worked for one day. Wouldn’t charge my Garmin which was the whole point of taking it. Buy a brick instead!

The battery kept on over heating whilst charging in the sunlight. But the panel s need to be in the sunlight to change the battery. Design flaw. Return to Amazon and gots the big blue 28w solar panel instead this works great
