You see, the typical engine stand is universal in design with four adjustable mounting ears to attach the engine block to the stand’s rotating head. This allows an engine stand to work, theoretically, with any engine block, from an old truck inline six to that modern overhead cam engine you’re swapping into your hot rod. The issue is those four mounting ears don’t always line up the best with the engine’s bellhousing bolt pattern for a secure and safe mounting solution. Or it throws the engine off balance, making it hard to rotate on the stand. Lastly, we’re always wasting time trying to find the correct length engine stand bolts to secure the engine to the stand (because the factory bellhousing bolts are often too short).
