Advert says this is for 1.25" hitch. It is actually for 2" hitch.

Heavy duty steel construction. Looks to be powdercoated. The galvanized U-bolt is about 11mm (a bit over 3/8") and is complete with flat washers, lock washers and nuts.As another reviewer noted, the gap is a bit over 2.25" so is sized for a 2" receiver, though I assume could also be used on a 1.25" receiver. The powdercoating on the one I received is marred and scratched to bare metal in a few places since the parts are just placed in plastic bags and put in the Boulder Tools small box without any padding. As noted by another reviewer the web page and product box both indicate that this is "for1.25", though it actually is 2.25" as noted above.Nice product, but 1 deducted a star for Boulder Tools lack of appropriate packing material.

This is a review of the only product which worked, fit, ten minutes to install, built like and tough as a steel ball bearing. This is the end result of the review but I want to say, in brief, how I got here. I have a car with an auto feature when you kick in the center of the rear bumper the lift gate opens. I also have a bike rack. I hope you can see where this is going. The bike rack is 1/2” to close to the car which is really noticeable when the damn lift takes on a life of it’s own and whacks the bike rack center poll. Finally it was pointed out if i moved the bike rack out the dent and missing paint on the lift gate would not get any worse.I found out that there exists a language call hitch talk. I just wanted an extension, fit for the bike rack, that did not rattle or have any movement. Because I do not speak the language and a mechanical moron I ordered three different items to fix the extension to the hitch receiver. All of which had the dementions needed and designed to element the back and forth of the bike rack. What a load of crap. I found out you need to hire an engineer to read the tiny print. Then I saw this hitch tightening device. It fit, worked, simple, never fail and looks good form a look at this thing way. That’s it. The rack is rock solid loaded up. Hope this helps, time, and money. Good luck. Thomas

Hallelujah! No more trailer rattle, rock and roll! First ordered another similar model listed as fitting a 2" and a l 1/4" hitch shank, but it was too big to work. This model fits just right on my 1 1/4" Curt receiver hitch set up. No more clanking and racket. Solid. Listed as the offset plate is 1/4" thick, but it's actually 5/16"! Nice surprise, having the main plate 25% heavier. Oddly, Curt customer service says they do not make one for their own 1 1/4" hitch models. Included directions are useless, although it's simple enough to figure it out, see the pix. It clearly will only do the job in the correct position.
