Beautiful pan with beautiful design. Comes with recipes too. And can be washed in dish washer although I think I will be washing it by hand... just because. Sturdy and well-made.

I will need to work on my recipe a bit because the shortbread did not come out ‘clean’ from the pan, but I did really like the baked texture of the finished shortbread. I did line the pan with parchment paper for the first bake, but I will probably just use a good baking spray for the next batch- this pan would also be great for baking scones or biscuits!!

I’ve only used it once, but the design didn’t show up on the cookies as well as I hoped it would. They came out of the pan easily enough after I’d seasoned it with olive oil in the oven, so maybe there has to be a balance between how deep the design is & the ability to remove the baked goods from the pan, but I’m still disapointed. 🤷♀️

I didn't notice the crack on the handle until I had used the pan the first time. It may have been there or happened after the first use. I continued to bake in it and no further cracking appeared. I did read the delivery slip and wasn't aware, until then, that this pan was a "second". I am pleased with the way my shortbread turned out and thrilled with the Thistle design.

This mold produces beautiful shortbread and the classic recipe tastes just like the shortbread made by my Scottish grandmother. The recipe book that is included has several alternatives to the Classic recipe, but honestly, why mess with a good thing? I tried one of them and while it was good, the Classic is what we all want when we hear "shortbread". The recipe also multiplies very well. I usually multiply by 2 to 4 (more than that does not fit into my mixer) and then weigh out the portions evenly. They are usually 10 oz each.Make sure that you spray the mold well with cooking spray to assure that the shortbread releases from the pan. Also, you really need to press the shortbread into the mold well to make sure that you get the most distictive pattern.Beware, once you start making this short bread for friends & family you will be making it forever. My shortbread gift list grows every year. I have 4 pans so I can make multiple batches.
