Initially I ordered the #46 Butler Creek cap for the objective end of my scope. It was a snug fit, but it was difficult to open the protective cap as the tight fit also expanded the threads on the main part of the assembly. Returned it for a #47 cap and it works much better.A refund was issued even before the returned item had been delivered back to the seller. The cost of shipping was deducted from my purchase, but it was a smooth transaction, even in the printing of the return label. I let the local UPS store print it for me as I knew it would be a gummed label vs the plain paper that comes out of your home printer.The #47 cap works much better, and I am happy with it.

I have read the reviews about these covers however I am 70 now and do not go on excursions to wilderness areas so I can not attest to their durability. I can tell you that I put them on a Vortex 50mm scope wit the sun shield attached. They went on snuggly and will not just fall off. What I didn't think of is that if you adjust the objective lens the scope cover turns also and then when you flip it open of course it might open side to side or bottom to top.I am a prepper an don't know if the SHTF scenario will actually happen or not so my gun sits in my closet, loaded just in case, with these scope caps on and closed. I can tell you that under those circumstances that these caps fill my purpose.
