My CRV shut off without warning while I driving. I thought the fuel pump died. I had it towed to the shop and they found it had no spark. I changed the cap and rotor a few months back, but the actual coil is inside the distributor. 3 bolts and 2 wire clips to change

Aftermarket and remanufactered distributors won't work with first gen honda crv they will continue to throw codes. Buy a used one from eBay or junkyard.

Just use the crv for errands and such, prior to this distributor the car would sometimes just stop running. Car shop(s) could not put a finger on it, ignitor or coil or other. So I just picked this one up and works like a charm.

I didn't feel like diagnosing each part within the assembly so it was nice to pick this up from Amazon for half the price of local big parts stores. Make sure you unscrew and pull off the cover on the old and new units so they are both in the same direction.Easy, easy install on my 2001 Honda CR-V
