The new low-angle spiral is designed to shear wood cleanly and provide excellent chip ejection. I bought this To route dog holes in a woodworking bench I am building and after plunge routing 55 holes in solid 2-4’ thick maple, walnut and Oak the bit looks no worse for wear and cut the last hole as easily and cleanly as the first. The bit came in original packaging and is another example of “you get what you pay for”. I would definitely buy this again if I ever needed to. I own other CMT bits and have never been disappointed

The bit works quite well. It is sharp and has endurance; however, despite the photo which says this is a two-pack, only one bit comes with your order. I used it to create many, many floating tenon mortises 2" deep and it performed admirably.

3 stars for now since I am not sure of it's authenticity. I have mostly CMT and they all have a CMT etched on the bit this one does not. I've submitted a question regarding this. The following is what I've gathered 1/2"x2"x4" -is the size, Z2- Two Cutting Edges, POS ~POSITIVE SPIRAL, HWM~High water marks, MAN Manual Feed, RH Right Hand. I don't know or find what 18-5982 nmax24000 e01 means. The ~ is I'm not sure. I'll update once I find out if this is an authentic CMT. If I were rating the CMT bit it does get 5 stars. However the bit purchased from Prime Time Solutions does not appear to be authentic because it is without the CMT etching. I requested a return and they have accepted but I've still not received a reply from them regarding my inquiry about the missing CMT etching. I had a choice to order from my go to place Routerbitworld they are a terrific place to purchase from because the price and customer service is great. But I went with World Class Supply since they replied to my question and they are a really good organization as well. The second image is what I would expect, the CMT etching on the bit purchased from World Class Supply

Soooo happy with this purchase! I looked everywhere for this size bit and couldn’t find it anywhere!! I used it to cut out a round table top and it cut smooth and precise! Definitely worth it!!!

Used this to cut some half inch by 3 1/2 inch long by 1 3/16 deep mortises in cherry. They came out flawless. Plunged all the way down at each end of the mortise and then began working away at the material in the middle. Note that this worked best if it was taking only a quarter or 3/8 inch of material in each pass. More than that and it seemed to tax my router quite a bit. Not a big deal

If used in steps the spiral bit great. Would be nice if it had a hex shaft. I had to tighten the chuck a lot. I used to drill mortise in hard maple.
