Handle doesn't lock into place so it can come loose at any time. Dangerous, as the lantern can easily drop to the ground. Starter is also made of cheap plastic. Bought this out of nostalgia, but product certainly isn't like the previous made in USA versions.

The coleman lantern is, well, a coleman, so it works great. the handle wants to come out of the holes so that is some what disappointing and the cover is unique and seems to work ok, time will tell. the handle is what made it 4 stars

The cover is not very easy to close and can pop open. When the tank is still attached, the cover does not work well. Other than that, it works good like any other lantern sold for $10 cheaper.

had a very hard time trying to open the hard cover the first time as there is no instruction anywhere how to open it. i found out by accident that where it meets in the middle of the front opening, you're suppose to press in the left side of the cover to click it open. haven't tried it yet but s/b ok. will wait till summer camping.

Coleman used to produce quality merchandise. I ordered two of these "things", and both assembled the same way - So I know I just didn't get a "bad one". The “Ventilator-Bail Assembly" will not tighten down "snugly" to the "Lantern Frame"; there is a lot of "play". Consequently, the "Globe" doesn't fit right- To much play in the Globe. I have two "Dual Fuel" Coleman Lanterns so I know how these things are suppose to assemble. To put it bluntly - The "Coleman 810 Lumens Lantern" is a piece of crap. "Made in China" says a lot about it. I guess you get what you pay for. I would return these; however, I think I will put them on the book shelf as a daily reminder not to be too quick to buy Coleman products in the future; and, as a daily reminder of the $83.42 I threw away. As for the “operation” of the product – I wouldn’t know. I never made it to that point – Too disgusted.

This lantern has the ability to be low to high light output, uses little fuel to keep lit. Typical Coleman manufacturing, green, the casehelps keep it from breaking during travel. I would buy it again, I would give it as a gift, I would love to get one as a gift.

Right out of the box this lantern was up and running in minutes. I had the mantles burned to ash, and the glass globe installed in less than 5 minutes. With a simple twist the propane cylinder was in place the it only took one click to get the mantle lit and burning. After letting it run for a few minutes I adjusted the light level and it was very easy to go from bright to dim, then off with ease. After letting it cool down I was able to pack it up in the case and hang it up out of the way ready for the next camp out or power outage. Very nice system, easy to setup and use and I highly recommend it.
