I wanted a board that can handle water coloring, so I was looking for a coated board and this seemed to fit the bill. Works great for that purpose! The rubber band at the bottom that came with the board was useless because it broke within days of receiving and without me even using it at least once at that point. Still a great board though!

Somewhat fragile. Mine was nicked on the edge from going into the box it was shipped in. You sure don't want to flex it at all. I think when this breaks I will make my own out of something a bit more sturdy.

This board is perfect for my use. I make hand-crafted greeting cards, and often stamp in ink an outline of an image, and then color it using colored pencils, watercolor pencils, alcohol markers, or gel pens. I needed a sturdy flat surface that I could "prop" in my lap and lean on the desk and this works perfectly for that. It's a good size, sturdy but light-weight, and the heavy plastic clasp is strong enough to hold my image securely. I have noticed no quality issues at all; it is perfectly finished, smooth rounded corners, smooth "rivets" attaching the clasp to the board, nice smooth white surface. I have to say that it really exceeded my expectations given the price.Solid 5 stars!

I had to return this item three times! I don't know if it was due to poor packing or the poor quality of the board, maybe both. It came with the corners pealing up every time. The was the right size I had been looking for but the condition it arrived in 3different times I doubt it would last long. I gave up after the third time. Strongly suggest forgetting this item and look elsewhere.

I was looking for an art-work board to use while sitting in my reclining chair. The typical 'lap-desk' wasn't the answer. Not one to give up on an idea, I kept using different descriptive words as I searchedon Amazon. I finally found what I hoped would work and I love it! The contouredside can be slanted to accommodate most any project. The board is extremely sturdy. I've had it for many months and it's stillin perfect condition. Darice specializes in arts and crafts products. This one is a winner!

I really like the fact that this drawing board has a durable plastic clip on it that won't scratch or tear something if you set it down on a leather couch. The drawing finish reminds me of a Formica kitchen top. Large rubber band included. Easy to clean smooth surface. Lightweight with a decent amount of room for drawing or writing. See my picture for a comparison to an average clipboard that is 8 ½ " x 12" size.Very satisfied with the purchase after only one day's use.

What's to be said? I needed an inexpensive lap board and chose this model. It's OK. I like the melamine laminate, but overall, the board is thin and a little flimsy. "Adequate" is probably the best adjective...

I use this size and the larger 26" model for pencil sketching. The large white surface is attractive but is a little bright under certain sun conditions, so glare can be a problem. The single (double on the larger model) paper clips are a black nylon material which is gentle to paper and appear sturdier than you might think. My only real gripe is with all the larger clipboards being made today; they're about 1/2 the thickness that they used to be and feel like they'll snap in two if dropped or any pressure is applied perpendicular to the board surface. Years ago these were a solid 1/8" to 3/16" and made of tempered masonite. The tempered thicker stock was heavier particularly in the larger sizes but felt much more substantial and was a trade off I was willing to make. Today you don't have a choice. The manufacturers reduced the material thickness to about 3/32" which makes the board less substantial than optimum and in the larger sizes can feel pretty flimsy. This is the case in every larger board I looked at and some weren't even tempered (which adds a desirable hardness to the surface). This model by Danice is the best of a sorry lot.
