I wrongly assumed my vise was 4 inches,, nope, it 5 inches. So I can still use these for some projects. They were the cheapest ones. And they don't seem to be very heavy duty.I'd advise you spend more and get some stronger blocks unless your doing very light work. The magnets aren't very strong either.

Bought to use in conjunction with an Irwin Drill Press Vise and an AR15 Upper Receiver Block. Since Im limited for space where I live, I saw a guy on youtube use this setup to work on an AR he was doing work on. The vise pads are great as they offer you a smooth side or a grip side depending on how you arrange them on the vise jaws. They are magnetic so they hold onto the metal quite well. For the purpose I bought them for they have aided me in attaching a muzzle device as getting the correct torque so that the crush washer engages correctly.

They are good for the money. The magnets are strong and I have had a couple of the magnets pop out when removing these from the vice jaws so had to epoxy them all in place. I have my doubts about them holding up. I'll need to see just how durable the material is long term.

Stays on the vise and holds strong

It seems to work pretty good for the price. It will protect what ever you have to vice. The magnetic holders will not stay secured on certain items but still works.

As far as protecting your work piece, they're great! The magnets that help the covers stay in place are worthless. They're good magnets, if they would stay attached to the jaw covers. The first time I used them one of the magnets came out. By the 3rd or 4th time I had used them, all the magnets had fallen out. I tried to glue them back in, but to no avail. The magnets need to be molded in, not glued on. That would make them really nice!

Love that these pads.Strong-ish magnets on both flanges: A lot of the pads I have seen (and purchased) on Amazon have only one set of small magnets on one side of pad. This holds well in the vertical plane but allows the horizontal plane to detach from the vise! Becomes a pain to constantly be fiddling with. This product have magnets on BOTH flanges which significantly reduce the fiddle-factor. :) I do think even stronger magnets would be nice esp for projects where you are constantly tightening and then moving the piece, adjusting etc. The pads still want to wander a little. But overall... very happy with theseInterchangeable pad faces: Because there are magnets on both flanges of the pads, you can quickly and easily flip them and alternate between the a complete flat/smooth face and a grooved face (with channels to assist in holding at different angles 90, 180, 45).Material:The material is a hard non-marring plastic. It appears durable but only time will tell. There is no rubber so this is not the softest of jaw pads but is great for soft metals like aluminium.Great product. Highly recommend.

The magnets are strong but the holes they are nestled in are slightly too big or the magnets are not glued down. So the magnet will slip out as pull the plastic pads off the vice.

These are great, I use them very frequently HOWEVER, I’ve had to epoxy magnets back into their sockets.

Great for holding items without scratching them. When not in use the magnets hold them on the anvil out of the way.

These pads work fine, but I've had to re-glue one or magnets. The re-glued magnets stay in, but I'm expecting others to let go any time. Not a major problem for me.

These are as advertised, little nylon blocks that fit to your vice jaws. Another review said the grooves weren't mirrored properly, but my pair has the correct matching grooves.

Work great. The multiple angled grooves for holding round objects are SUPER handy, and I am surprised how often I use them. The magnets to hold the jaws in place are pretty stout. Be advised- the magnets are stout enough to pull themselves loose from the plastic and stick to your vise. This doesn't cause me any problems tho. Use a sliding motion to get this jaw off of your vise and it's all good. Also- the magnet collects grinding dust and metal shavings. (Also not a big deal.)
