This is a great measuring tool - very precise and accurate. When tested against my machinist squares, it gave perfect readings. I keep several of these in different places (shop, truck, garage…) because they’re so useful and affordable. Instead of worrying about forgetting one, I figured it’s better to have extras on hand. :)

I love this tool as it takes the guess work out of anything concerning angles. I love it for flooring, wood working, framing, etc. This is must have for anytime you have to work with angle and don't want to have to make multiple cuts and guess on the fit.

This so much easier to use than a speed square. I do home renovations and recently came across some ornamental gingerbread that I thought would be perfect for the home I was working on and wasn't sure they would work. I had my helper climb a ladder on the job site with this tool to give me the angle of the fascia at the peak over the phone. This is something I knew he wouldn't have been able to do with a speed square and I was happy this tool was there on the job site. I checked the angle on the gingerbread and they matched perfectly. I sent pictures to the customer and they were very excited to add them to their home. I was able to grab them right then without having to make an extra trip. I do have a similar angle finding tool that just locks in place without any measurements on it but if you drop it or accidently bump it the two sides can move so it's very nice to be able to just write down the angle.

I didn't know such devices have become so inexpensive these days! Now I did receive this via the Vine program (and my thanks to the manufacturer/seller and Amazon for providing it), though it still is not completely "free" to me, as I have tax liability on the MSRP. However, had I paid the full price, $13 is well, well, WELL WORTH IT to get accurate angles.I do a fair amount of home repairs, for which I need to measure a lot of 90-degree angles, and those are easy. Sometimes I need to measure 45 degrees, not too bad, but it means using a protractor. Now with this little beauty, I can easily measure 11 degrees or 78 or any angle I want, and I can also measure if drywall has been put in completely vertically.Absolutely wholeheartedly recommended, for the home repairman and the professional too.

***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.***This digital angle finder is a handy tool to have around the shop, but the one big issue I had with it was getting it aligned to what I was working on. Because the pivot point is solid, there's no way to verify that the tip of the angle your measuring is centered below the pivot center. For most jobs this isn't a big deal, but in a couple of oddball circumstances I had to figure out an alternate method for measuring.Also, the battery it comes with is crap - plan on relacing the button cell almost immediately.

This is one of those tools that you could completely do without. But like many tools of this nature, if you do own one, there are a lot of situations where it makes it a lot easier and quicker to do the job. Once you get the correct angle of some piece that you’re working on you lock this in to that angle and you can quickly duplicate other pieces. It seems to be pretty accurate. And made of good quality materials. This is also great for making sure the angle of one of your saws is a true 90°. I’m glad I wrote this review because that just reminded me: oh yeah I need to do that!

I recently had to measure a lot of odd angles for some handrails I was installing in my house. A digital laser angle gauge helped a lot in determining the angles I needed but I really could have used a gauge like this Precision Peak ruler in my shop when I was making the cuts. It works well and seems to be accurate (compared to a good carpenters square) but I am deducting one star from this review because the edges of the steel rules are much too sharp and could easily cut one’s hands. The attached photo shows what happens if you lightly rub an end against a piece of paper – and the same thing might happen to your hand. I did not want to even store it in a drawer in this condition because reaching in to grab something might have led to a cut. The problem was, however, easy to fix using a stone (normally used to sharpen tools) to soften the edges. One could reasonably argue that 4 points is too high a rating given this concern but I do really like the tool.
