I bought two of these grips for my Nikons. They are built well, and do not feel cheap. Everything functions well, and I like the double AA battery holder that is also included. Why buy the original for almost four times the amount. These grips are just as good. I have the original grip from Nikon to compare it to.

The only difference between this product and what Nikon has to offer is the price. Great Vertical Battery Grip.

I don't know what people expect , sure it's not made by Nikon. So it's not made of metal like the camera is. First off wish they wouldn't even bother with extra control and switches. . I don't want to pay $250 for a battery holder. I wanted the extra size more than anything. I still have FE an F2 with motor drives and extended magazine backs and they actually have a lot of engineering involved and are over 35 years old and probably @ 30_50k shutter releases each. So yeah they were well worth money spent back in the day

It makes my Nikon D700 a lot faster! I can take a photo of a flying bird, running dog/horse etc. a lot faster meaning the photo is sharper and its quality overall is much better. It is a very affordable and helpful piece of equipment. I cannot believe I didn't buy it earlier!

I was pleasantly surprised at the sturdiness and design of this product. Considering the Nikon original is upwards of $250 - this is an awesome inexpensive alternative part. I am also very pleased with the extra tray for using AA batteries as opposed to the Nikon original batteries. This may come in handy as I shoot a lot sometimes after a full day, my batteries become depleted. This gives me an option of using AA batteries to keep shooting.Everything functions as it should. I have only used it 3 times since purchasing, but I have to say so far I am pleased. After having it for a month or so, I will update this review in the future.

One of the main reasons I settled on this particular after-market battery grip was that it included the battery chamber cover for the D3's EN-EL4 battery. So far I haven't had any issues with this battery grip, it mounts onto my D700 as expected and is like all of my other after-market battery grips. The rubber has a nice touch to it and as long as you don't smash it into the ground it should work very well. All the buttons are also placed just fine for a small/medium sized hand. My primary usage is to get more power for my camera in not very rugged conditions, so it's a perfect price-to-performance ratio. If anything changes I'll be sure to update this review.

It visually looks very much like the original. It is a thick gauge of plastic. It doesn't feel cheap. The rubber parts of it are very well molded. The controls worked well and can be disabled if you only wanted to use the extra battery. The tripod mount has a reinforced metal bar across the grip but I would still "not" recommend it for use on shoulder harnesses that uses the tripod socket to hold it. Using "OpTechUSA" harness will be a better option because it uses the camera mount. It's not designed for rough handling but just to allow longer shooting time with the extra battery. If your application may require heavy use such as on a safari or some fast paced coverage then I recommend using the original metal framed Nikon MB-D10. If you only require longer shooting time then the DSTE will do just fine. It doesn't have any of those fancy LCD displays or parallel battery compartments like some 3rd party brands but it's well made to compliment your d300 or d700. It also comes with the tray to hold en-el3, 8 AA batteries, BL-3 cover for use on the en-el4 battery & a connector cap. The bottom rubber connector cover from the camera can be stored on the grip so you don't accidentally misplace it. I'm keeping it. Made in China

Works great with my D300. Body appears to be high grade plastic rather than magnesium but it has been sturdy and held up in weather (snow storm) with no problems.

I bought a D300 as a backup camera. This grip mounted solidly, an felt like it was pert of the camera ffrom the factory. I normally shoot with a D3s so I wanted the advantage of being able to use the long life batteries that my D3s does and the ease of shooting vertical. It does both of those and for a rediculous low price. Buy your Nikon factory made one if you have extra money laying around and just like spending it. Heck, give it to me if you feel that generous.Works great, great price. Its a win for everyone, except for Nikon but you did at least buy the camera from them.
