Very happy with this fluorite! This was the first of 2 orders, (I’ll review the other separately) and I wasn’t sure when I first opened the package. They were very dusty and hard to see how pretty they really were u til I washed them off. (Make sure you do that straight away!) the pieces are mostly small, which was exactly what I wanted, to use as a filler on a project my husband and I are working on. We quickly realized we needed more, and I placed another order a few days later. A pound of rocks really isn’t much, so keep that in mind. But there were many beautiful pieces in my order and I was happy enough with the seller to order again.

These are so pretty! All I did was rinse in cool water & the colors popped! I’m not a rock collector but I do love rocks & bought these for my grandkids as treasures..mixed them in with regular rocks so they think they’ve always been there. Mine wereexa tly as pictured, some various shades of green, some multicolor, some clear...SO pretty! Highly recommend these, great value, beautiful stones!

I have a small part-time business selling both sets of raw stones for a specific intention (or decoration) as well as wrapped crystals for pendants. The size and color of the stones I received was absolutely unbelievable. The colors (especially the greens) were deep and rich, and some of the stones had layers of different colors unlike any other I've seen. I just ordered my second shipment, and if it's anything like my previous order, I'll be ordering again soon. One thing to note--especially if you are new to Fluorite--is that it is one of the softer stones you can work with. That means you need to be careful. You can't just attack it with your Dremel like it's an Amethyst or something. For shaping and polishing I used a lot of very fine grit sandpaper. I've been less careful on past stones only to cause fault lines and cracks inside the stone, not to mention rough flaking around the edges. Another thing is that many of the pieces I got had various amounts of matrix on the back. This is where the Fluorite was attached to the rock below it. (Think of the rind on a watermelon). If it's a thick layer, you might want to use a Dremel (or similar) to get through most of the matrix, but not all of it. Use a gentle touch and don't hit the stone with the power tool if you can avoid it. (This has been my experience using a Dremel on Fluorite. Your experience could be completely different)A couple of the stones were a bit chunky for pendants, but they turned out well. Other than those two, pretty much all of the pieces I received were already the perfect size for free-form wrapping.Again, Fluorite can be a bit fussy, but the stones I received are well worth the extra care.

3rd Update: I ordered another 1 lb of fluorite this week after accidentally ordering from another company that sent fake material. It won't let me review more than once so I added two photos including one under longwave uv light; albeit poor camera quality, but you can see it lights up and shows differing degrees of fluorescence as it should. The other is all one glob of the same shade of deep purple that doesn't really show fluorescence, just reflection of the unfiltered blue light.UPDATE November 2021- After shopping with several companies for stones on here and recently being confused by another store's ad I can say this is the ONLY fluorite I will buy as it is 100% authentic. I have been sold fake "Grade A" rocks that are low grade fluorite on a quartz matrix and their "pound" had half the amount of stones as Fantasia's. I have no reason to add this other than wishing more people with knowledge of geology/mineralogy/petrology etc would leave reviews. These specimens all light beautifully under ultra violet light, with the cheaper long wave flashlights showing the brilliant shades within these stones. Also, the minerals I received each time were brighter, bolder and more beautiful than the advertised pictures making it even better!I was very happy with this order and pleasantly surprised with the quality and different shades/shapes that came in my 1lb order. It arrived quickly and with minimal breakage.Update May 2021- I bought the fluorite in February 2018 and had to add to my review when I saw how little I wrote especially with so many competitors selling the same thing and many at a higher price. This was an excellent purchase with fluorite in every shade from colourless to pieces showing four colours and almost all of it is reactive to longwave ultraviolet light as well as shortwave. I will try to add some pictures of the blacklist images but balancing my camera phone with a small handheld light is difficult. The most spectacular were the teal pieces. I have since shared my stones and given many away as I always do but because I fell in love with this particular batch I ended up keeping about half of the pieces. I was almost shocked while shopping for a similar purchase last week but given the interest in crystals and stones, I understand. What I don't understand are negative reviews with complaints of "colorless, dusty rocks". When purchasing any item I would think one would research what they are ordering and try to look at similar options before leaving a review because real, natural / raw fluorite is going to appear lighter in colour and very "dusty" or "dirty" because the material comes from the ground, not a laboratory. I added a photo showing what my package of rough fluorite looked like when it arrived compared to 5 minutes later after I ran water over it quickly and laid it out to dry. There is also a photo of one piece from the next day where I barely hand polished it to enhance the beautiful stripes of purple, indigo and green!!!I hope to purchase more from this company and if things have changed then I an ammend and apologize for criticizing any reviews. However, please give your stones a "chance" by reading how to properly look at whatever you are purchasing, what to expect it to "look like" and how to alter it's appearance; if desired.

This is the second time ordering 1 lb. of Rainbow Fluorite from Fantasia Materials: The first order, in May 2017, was wonderful. The pieces were large and very colorful. This current second order is not as good. The gemstones are much smaller - all of them under 1" - and the color selection was a bit, "blah". Overall the purchase is fine but I guess I just got my hopes up that the product would still be amazing. It's not.
