Marble dust is a solid waste material (by-product) generated from the processing of white marble from the Eastern Pyrenees of South France. The ground calcium carbonate is characterized by its high brightness and chemical purity. Marble Dust is used as a natural mineral pigment or as a natural mineral filler/ texture enhancer in the preparation of casein paints or lime, whitewash, coating, stucco, and cement. The addition of Marble Dust to other substances does not affect the original colour of the substance so it is a great way to enhance texture or be used as a filler with no impact to colour. Marble Dust is made from calcium carbonate and is white in colour. How to Mix Marble Dust into Paint or other base products: Start with a small amount of Marble dust and gradually mix it into your paint or other base product. Add more dust to the mixture to make it thick and pasty. If the mixture is too thick, add more paint/ other base to thin it out. Continue experimenting with adding marble dust to the mixture until you are happy with the consistency. The goal is to make a solvent-free oil painting medium by mixing this marble dust with linseed or walnut oil. It works okay but is a bit coarse for what I want. It feels gritty under the palette knife but smooth in the brush. However, the final effect of improving paint flow, especially when glazing, without altering the colour/value is nice. The big issue is painting marble dust is more like 3-50 microns whereas this is closer to 160. Still within range and good enough for my current skill level, but I suspect a professional would find this a bit frustrating.

The package is white dust but once mixed with my brand new resin, It's comes out Beige. I did add white soft sand but my sand always stays white in every resin piece. Very Disappointed.
