What is Splash Shield
A splash shield, also known as a splash guard, is a protective component installed on the underside of a vehicle to stop water, mud, and debris from splashing up into the engine bay and other critical components. Splash shields are typically made of a durable, lightweight material such as plastic or rubber, and they are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of the road.

Material
The use of high-strength plastic strikes a good balance between weight and durability. If you especially value debris protection and use in cold inclement weather, rubber fender liner could be a better option.
Replacement
You might notice that your fender liner has been cracked, punctured, or torn. If a significant amount of wear and tear were found on your fender liners, it is a time for substitution.
