Lead fishing gear is dangerous, and even fatal, to wildlife including fish, loons and eagles, and in some states is illegal to sell. While looking for steel headed fishing jigs, I came across these which were labeled "alloy steel." The questions section of the listing states, " Based on the product information, there is no indication that these jig heads contain lead." However, when I filed the paint off one head, it scratched easily with a dentist's probe, which would not happen with steel. These jigs look good but appear to be made with lead. If I am wrong, please advise and I will revise this review. Otherwise, I won't use these.

Sharp hooks. The hole eyelets all seem to be open which rare on bulk jigs. The 1/64 is a great size for adding a little weight to a panfish or trout presentation. I like this size for when the bite is slow and you need to downsize. Pair it with a split shot to maintain the weight. I can't find anything to complain about. Great value.
