The post is 1 and 1/32" long, and fits perfectly in a 1/4" hole. The post has two holes in it. Thefirst hole isapproximately 1/2" from the inside of the plate, and the second hole is approximately 7/8" from the inside of the plate. The machine head can be used for either vertical (with a scroll head) or horizontal (with a flat head) mounting.
