I used this fly on a 4 day camping trip where it rained every day. So.etimes the rain was very heavy, yet this fly kept everything under it cozy and dry. I have already recommended it to friends.

I like the weight and quality of the product. Not mention the price! I would recommend this tarp to campers.

I returned my item because I had no use for the tarp. I was either in heavy forest or treeless beaches. I tried it out at my house and it was perfect for my uses as a porch for my tent, rain or shine it kept it out. Do recommend.

This seems like a well-made tarp. However the weight only the tarp is 27.25 ounces. Total kit is 36.5 ounces. This is not "lightweight" in my opinion.

I ONLY use NFS tents when I hike, so the "hunt" for a lightweight tarp, that doesn't break the bank (like a 10x12 Dyneema tent would do) is a huge plus! That said... at 1.7 lbs (or 27 oz, on the dot), this tarp is the best of 8 other "ultralight" tarps I've purchased in the hunt for a budget, UL tent tarp. While lighter than most other tarps in its class (incl dimensions, quality, & waterproofness vs weight), it doesn't scrimp on the most basic of features; including several grommets for guy-outs (as noted in my pic), as well as several loops along the ridgeline for suspending it from a line (or similar).Combined with a 1.3 lb tent body, a 0.2 lb stake / cord bag (w/ titanium stakes & Dyneema cord), this tarp brings my total tent weight to a mere 3.2 lbs ~ that is a 7ft x 5ft tent body w/ a 120 sq ft tarp! That's a LOT of "real estate" for such a reasonable weight for its price point!!!I will update this review as necessary, as I continue to use this tarp & test its durability. On a side note, I also have a Foxelli headlamp & poncho-tarp, both of which I LOVE! So far, Foxelli is one of my FAVE budget hiking gear brands... who has earned a place among my name brands (e.g. Granite Gear, Gossamer, REI, Osprey, etc.).

as advertised. first outing with this item, was a 5 day BWCAW trip with 4 people. we had one full day of heavy rain, the fly is waterproof, quiet in the wind. with a couple of extension poles and trees in a good spot, this was a nice addition to our camp gear. 10x12 size was just the right size for 4, for a larger group i may but a second.
