I worked for several years in a professional dog training/boarding facility and would occasionally have owners give us quail eggs to add to their dog's food. While fresh is always a better option, freeze-dried is a close second. Our two GSDs love these as occasional treats. And I love that they're single ingredient, healthy goodness. Since opening the container, I've kept them in the fridge to be on the safe side. It's been almost a month and no mold or weird smells so far. I've rolled these on the floor for my dogs to chase and they held up well. But they are easy to crumble if you want to add them as a topper. I tried offering a whole one and some crumbled pieces to my cats and they wouldn't touch it (typical cats). Overall, I'm happy with these.

The packaging is great: they come vacuum sealed for freshness in a sturdy screw top jar. Ordered them as a nutritious treat for the cat, but she wasn’t interested in eating them (even when cut into smaller pieces). They look good to me, but, cats can be picky.[Disclosure: I received this product for “free”—in quotes because the IRS considers the item’s retail value as taxable income for federal income tax purposes. These freeze-dried quail egg yolks are such a fun little addition to my dogs’ meals! I love that they came sealed to keep everything fresh. They’re super easy to crumble on top of their food, and my pups go crazy for them. It’s a great way to add a little boost of nutrition and make their lunch extra exciting. Definitely a new favorite in our meal routine! :)

I originally got these for my cat, I thought he'd like them since he really likes scrambled eggs. Unfortunately, he looked at me like I had just threatened his life. 😂.. He is a unusually picky cat to be fair.It wasn't a total bust, since they have just 1 ingredient, they are safe to feed my hermit crabs. And I did just that.. And they seem to like them just fine. So, they're not just for dogs & cats.. We also recently have a stray cat that keeps coming around for food, so I offered her a quail egg with her cat food, and she devoured it. I'm just glad to know they won't go to waste. They came in a container, with a pop-top seal to keep them fresh. There was no awful or weird smell. They are easy to handle, and there's lots in there.I recommend these for pets that aren't picky, like my cat. Great quality and great price.

Sadie is quite a picky dog so I was not totally surprised when she refused to eat a quail egg. What does that mean? We went to the neighbor’s home to try them with their dogs! They gobbled those snacks up like there was no tomorrow! The neighbor was especially impressed by how simple the product was. That is always a plus. My dog did not eat them, but that would not stop me from recommending them. I’m very impressed.

I don't know why I hadn't expected this, but these quail egg yolks are crunchy. Of course they would be since they're freeze-dried. I can crumble them up, too, but prefer to feed as a treat. The ingredient list is "Quail Egg Yolk". Simple one-ingredient foods are a best choice in my opinion, so I can be confident these hold no harmful ingredients for my dogs. I actually give my dogs chicken egg yolk from time to time and they absolutely love those, so I thought they would like these. And they do! Very much. They come in a plastic container that has a pop-top type opening. They don't have any odor that I can detect, but the dogs seem to be able to smell something they think is delicious.
