It does indeed work very well for that purpose but I was surprised at the product for the money. It's well stitched and the materials are heavy duty. It also has some kind of polymer/plastic lining to protect it from water. But the most surprising thing is that it comes with a pair of Malice Clips! Considering this cost a hair under $10 I'm blown away that the were included in the price considering that a four pack of Malice Clips is around $8-$10!

Fits a silky pocketboy saw 170 just perfecct. The bib rubber/plastic loops wouldnt last if worn every day for work. Hiking now and then or hunting trips a guy would get many years out of it.

YES, the Gerber Sheath (size L) offers the perfect and possibly the best custom fit to carry and store my Silky Pocketboy (170mm, Outback Ed.)For those who use the Silky Folding saws, the biggest complaint are its hard plastic storage cases. While durable, it's too large chunky to carry around. Worse, the saws rattle too loudly inside and the top cap of Silky hardcases easily knock off. I've had to backtrack and look for it. Also, Silky's "so-called" belt loop is just a hard wire clip that looks more like a hanger and doesn't really function like a belt loop.Gerber resolved all these problems, PERFECTLY! Its slimmer, weighs lighter, and snugly fits the Pocketboy folding saw without a rattle to be heard inside a heavy duty, fully-lined (waterproofed?), ballistic nylon sheath. Best of all, it has plastic molle straps that serves both as a belt loop or molle backpack! It's the perfect design for this folding knife! Overall, I'm very impressed with the build quality, which btw proudly reads, "MADE IN AMERICA". :)

I have a Gerber Gator folding knife where the nylon sheath bit the dust. Can't find the exact replacement so on my second try found something that works. The knife fits and then some as there is room incase the knife was an inch or more longer. Though wish the Gerber site listed the physical size of the product.

This is a really nice pouch that you could stick an 8 inch fixed blade in or a folding saw or a medium flashlight. The quality is perfect and the material is really strong and durable it seems like it’s going to last a really long time. I’m definitely buying another one. The one pictured on Amazon looks old and beat up but the one I got was brand new looking and came in a sealed plastic package.
