As a long-time WileyX and Oakley buyer, I was somewhat unsure about Gargoyles, but this and the Aviator style glasses I ordered for a spring trip have me in love.These glasses are great- they are a nice balance between a wrap-around style and a more trendy look. They look good for men and women. I have worn them fairly regularly for the last 3 months and took them on an extended hiking trip in a very humid climate. Comfy as can be and did not slide off my face or build up humidity.They are super lightweight but very sturdy. And the case they come in is pretty awesome too.I would order these again and probably will in other colors as they are one of my favorite pairs.

I have the “Black Polarized” color and lens option in the Gargoyles Rampart Sunglasses. For me, the lenses could be darker. I would consider these a medium tint, the color more dark gray than black.Otherwise, I like everything about these sunglasses. Yeah, I know they are for dudes, but they fit my petite face just fine and I like the protection the lenses offer. According to Gargoyles’ website, the sunglasses “exceed ANSI Z87-2+ standards, which include high velocity impact and high mass impact protection.” Sunglasses double as eye protection for me when I’m working outside, so this is a huge plus for me.The frames are lightweight and comfortable, I can wear these for hours at a time. The temples (sidepieces) fit tightly but aren’t too squeezy on my head, which is another plus for me. Sunglasses that squeeze my head give me a headache after a while.The case is very cool and handy. There’s a cutout in the middle that makes it so much easier to hold than the usual sunglasses case. The cutout also helps keep the sunglasses in place inside the case, and lets you know that you have them in properly. The sunglasses only fit in one way. A big cleaning cloth is included, and the case has a clip on the outside so you can easily find it in your bag or backpack.

These Gargoyles 'Rampart series' remind me of a modern take on the old Hollywood Director style of sunglasses you see in period photography! I owned a pair of the Gargoyles 'Legend series' sunglasses that I lost in a lake, and was heartbroken over it. I have always wanted to own another pair of these beautifully crafted sunglasses.When I received these, I was so impressed with even the box and case these glasses came in. The detail put into the glasses, along with the 'work of art' sunglass case would make you think you spent a LOT more money than these glasses actually cost! Even the wiping cloth is top notch microfiber and embossed with the Gargoyles logo!My favorite thing about wearing these glasses are that the lenses are large enough that they completely cover my field of view. In other words, I'm not catching a corner of the frames in my vision while wearing them. This really adds to the comfort of the lens. In fact that is why I lost my original pair of Gargoyles Legends, because they were so comfortable and crystal clear vision, I forgot I was even wearing any sunglasses when I jumped into a lake! It's nice to see that all these years later, the 'Rampart' series honors that same quality!The styling of these glasses give off a confident, 'I mean business' vibe, without over the top styling. They also have a nice versatility in that the styling lends itself to sports, recreation, business and leisure settings equally well. Not every pair of sunglasses can pull that off, so I give kudo's for styling.Given the quality of the lenses, their high protection rating, versatility of the styling, and outstanding price, these are an awesome pair of sunglasses to own, and be seen in!!!

I review a lot of sunglasses because I have a sensitivity to light and I'm a bit careless with my things. I lose/break/scratch sunglasses often so it's unusual for me to have the same ones a month after I get them. I wear sunglasses to cycle, work, play and even drive at night (yellow lens). Most of the glasses I've reviewed are one shot name brands from China. These Gargoyles are of the few name brand lenses that I've tried and I'm always surprised at the quality of the optics. There really is a difference in a $20 pair of glasses and ones that are $80. They aren't much better in terms of durability or wear but they definitely spend more money on the lenses.I chose these Rampart Rectangles because they have a distinctive look. While my eyes are sensitive to bright light, the tint level on these is just right for me. I can wear them early in the day and late into dusk without issue. I don't look directly at the sun and I'm not flying an aircraft but the green tint is just right for my brain to picture ratio.Since I can't see my car stereo screen or HUD when I have these on, I know they are polarized. I tested them for UV protection with reactive paper and a UV light source. They pass which is no big surprise. I wouldn't expect anything less from a real name brand. As a comparison, I've tested many no name lenses and found them to lack any protection from UV and are often polarized only a fraction of a bit.I like that Gargoyle makes a lens you can trust. These frames are a particular style that I like and they are comfortable and easy to wear. I recommend these glasses, especially if you can get them on sale.

Been a huge fan of gargoyle for years. Dad still wears the black terminator ones. These here, however, don't live up to the gargoyle name. Had them for a year and a half. These lenses are impossible to keep clean and the rubber pieces have fallen apart around the nose bridge. I realize they are not brand new anymore the terminator ones seem to last considerably longer and can endure more wear.
