The 1&1/2 inch 6 point socket is the right size for removing and replacing the heater cores in a hot water heater .

This is a fairly cheap priced socket for an impact style. Keep in mind that points refers to the internal corners of a socket or wrench. 6 point is a little stronger than 12 point but 12 has more poisitions to adjust. It's easy to make that mistake if your not used to it. Only problem is the shipping cost is almost the same as the socket. Not such a good deal after all.

I was also expecting this socket to be 6" deep based on the product description. It's actually about half that.
