This is perfect for outside lights. It connected to the Wi-Fi as soon as I plugged it in. It is not hard to set up the routine with Alexa. I had used the single ones before for outside lights, but they proved to be a challenge. This double one is excellent! Each of the two outlets can be set for a different routine.

The plug is at an angle so if you have an outdoor rated outlet with protective cover it is hard to plug into. However, connectivity is great compared to the Kasa smart plug I just replaced. Pairs well with all my other Gosund plugs and switches and even links up well with google home.

We got this smart plug for our Christmas lights and it works great. We have several GHome switches in our house and have been pleased with them all. The app is very user friendly and intuitive.This switch was extremely simple to add to the app and get set up. Most of the time with these devices they need to update the firmware on the first use, and it automatically prompts you when setting it up and takes no time at all. I like that because it makes sure on your first use the product is going to be as up to date as possible.Both sides of the switch are independently programable via the app which makes it very handy for multiple items to get powew. You can choose to have the sockets activate at a set time. You can program it for different days of the week to do different things. It is extremely versatile and easy to use.We have it hooked up under a covered area so I can't speak to its weather proofing, but given their reputation I would believe whatever the listing says about it. It's time to upgrade your old light timer to something like this....you won't regret it!
