I am very glad that I decided to go with a genuine Google cable instead of an aftermarket one. This cable is very well made and, as expected, fits my Nest cam perfectly. It was a bit more expensive than the off brand but I feel confident that I will not have any problems with this cable down the line. It came with several cable mounts for the cord.

Very long cord worked great to hardwire my Google nest Camera. Extends the battery life to infinity. The cord is thick and built well. Magnetizes to the nest cam.

If you have the Google Nest Battery Camera, this is a must have accessory.Security is a must in this day and age, and being able to see the camera when I want, without waiting for the camera to come out of Idle mode, then adjust from night to day is a must. Being able to have 24/7 video recording is also a must have. While I enjoy the flexibility of having the camera being battery operated, the convivence of having the camera constantly recording far outweighs the running of a single cable.The cable is of great quality, and has held up in the really cold snaps of winter without having to provide any other shielding to the cable.

Camera works with this plugged in and I get the infinity symbol for battery status. But, $35 ?!?!! This is one-third the price of the entire camera. I guess Google is not making enough money. However, I have seen reviews about issues related to third party power adapters used with the camera, particularly related to the battery, so maybe there is some ultra sophisticated engineering and fabrication behind the OEM product that does not meet the eye.
