SSS Style 6-50 Wrapping is an interlocking braid, using SSS's unique proprietary PTFE/graphite yarn and high temperature lubricant This proprietary yarn is formed from developed PTFE in which fine particles of pure graphite have been encapsulated The resulting wrap combines the Chemical Resistance of PTFE with the heat dissipation characteristics of Graphite, thus allowing much higher shaft speed than conventional PTFE wraps SSS Style 6-50 is chemically inert over the full range of pH 0 to 14 pH with these exceptions: Molten Alkali Metals, Fluorides, Aleums, Smoking Nitric Acid, Aqua Regia and other strong oxidizing agents This style is an excellent general duty it is commonly used in pumps, valves, rotating shafts and agitators, mixers and agitators, and is specifically designed for surface service and higher temperatures than those which may ent be processed by PURE PTFE Packing
