About this item

  • M.2 NVMe SSD: Hagibis M.2 SSD hard drive enclosure is compatible with M.2 NVMe protocol (B+M Key/ M Key) SSD hard drives, supports 2230/2242/2260/2280 sizes solid state hard drive. It supports 10Gbps USB3.2 GEN2 Type-C interface, plug and play, more convenient to use
  • Write Protect Key: Hagibis MC200 SSD Case has one key push and pull to turn on and off, after turning on the Write-protect function, the files in the ssd can only be read, can not be modified or written, to prevent the files from being damaged or infected with viruses
  • Dual Power Outage Protection: Supercapacitor+RTL9210 main control, with dual software and hardware power outage data protection, providing an additional 10 seconds of power supply. After power outage, the main control will provide feedback to the host end and send instructions to the SSD end to ensure FTL mapping table updates and cache data writing, protecting data and SSD security. *Note: It takes 5-6 minutes for the supercapacitor to fully charge. When fully charged, it will not affect the SSD when reading files or in standby mode (not in write mode), power off or unplugging, and it will not increase the number of unsafe shutdowns on the SSD
  • 10Gbps Supper Speed: USB3.2 Type C NVMe enclosure transmission speed is up to 10Gbps, After installing the NVMe SSD, the read and write speed can reach 1000-1200MB/s.And HD movie transmission only takes 2 seconds. The perfect data transfer and backup solution. Backward compatible with USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB 3.0
  • 100W PD fast charging:Supports PD3.0 fast charging protocol, expanding and fast charging your device at the same time
  • Wide Compatibility: Hagibis Write Protection M.2 enclosure compatible with M.2 PCIe3.0x4 NVMe M Key, NVMe B+M Key in sizes 2280/2260/2242/2230 up to 4TB, NOT compatible with M.2 SATA SSDs, M.2 PCIe AHCI SSDs, M.2 PCIe devices. Supports system multi OS, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Android. Plug and play, no drive and power supply required
  • *Note: This is an SSD enclosure only and does not include any NVMe SSDs*Note: When connecting a new M.2 SSD to this product, please first change the format of the M.2 SSD to exFat format

This is a very nice and sleek hard drive enclosure. The inverter itself it's really cool and it's metal so it definitely feels really nice and I'm of good quality. It was really easy to put in SSD inside from there it was just plugging it into my computer and it worked. Another great thing that the seller included is a cable that also acts as a bracelet.

Okay, this thing is kinda nifty. I once had a case that would let you plug in a sata HD into the top of it, and although I don't think I ever used it, it was great to have as an option. This is similar but for m.2's. On my main computer I only have usb-c ports in the back, so I tried to plug it into my daisy chain of usb-extenders or basically the little mini-docks for laptops. It did not work. With some cables it thought it was a monitor. I have now learned that some usb-c cables are made for display purposes and some are made for transfer, I think they can all do both but if it's a display cable your computer may get confused with this enclosure. Once I brought it to my MS Surface it connected seamlessly. I knock one star off because it was rather slow. The bay itself looks rather sweet. I like the capacitor to save your data if it loses power. Oh, and by the way, you can plug power into that PD port, which I did not do for my Surface Pro test, but I tried on my main computer. (maybe it will go faster if I add power). In summary, I wouldn't run games off of it, but it is a great trouble shooting device. Great if you took an old computer apart and need a file from the old drive. Good if you just want a low profile storage device for backup of important items, etc. I really like it, and I'm being a bit harsh taking one star off, but it did take me a couple days (not a lot of time) of tinkering to finally find a way to get it to work.

I have another NVMe SSD drive housing which works fine, but this one has extra features which I consider very useful. For one thing it has a write-protect switch as a defense against accidentally writing to the drive, if the contents need to be preserved or protected. It has a 'super capacitor' which is like a short-term battery; when fully charged it provides the drive with power for about ten seconds to write to memory the data in the buffer. So if there is an unexpected power failure, the drive won't lose data that is in process of being written to it. I believe this would also protect the integrity of the data if you were to disconnect it without 'ejecting' it first to clear the buffers. It seems like basically the same situation to me, either way, and the super capacitor is for that purpose.I'm a bit puzzled that when I connect the it to my PC, Windows indicates that it detects the device and the drive installed in it, but I also get a message about 'Display connection might be limited'; this may have something to do with using this device with a laptop or tablet, but I am using it with a PC and that seems to not be of concern. There are two other USB C ports, on the side of the housing. One is labeled USB and the is labeled PD. The USB port can be used to connect a keyboard or other non-data device; the PD can be used for charging another device or I found it can also be used to daisy-chain another drive. I don't know if I'd do that as a normal thing, but I found that it does work. Some additional points: The bottom of the drive housing has a nifty sketch of the internal circuit board and indicates where the side-located ports are, so you have a second way to locate them besides the tiny markings by each. There is a QR code in the instruction pamphlet for viewing a web tutorial on enabling the write-cache of the drive to get the max performance; the website is a bit confusing but I was able to find the correct video to show how to enable the cache. The drive housing is held closed by four tiny torx-head screws, and a suitable small torx driver is included. You'll want to be sure to not lose that... or else maybe replace the screws in the first place with something like Philips heads. In all, this is a useful device with some features that provide flexibility which could come in handy!

I picked up this drive because I had an extra SSD left over after upgrading my Steam Deck. The SSD installation was super easy, and I really appreciate the design and build quality. The drive stays cool even during long write and read sessions, which is impressive. The 100W PD passthrough feature is a great addition – I can charge my laptop while juggling other devices without hogging all my USB-C ports. Plus, the supercapacitor ensures that my data isn’t lost if I accidentally unplug it before the writing process is completed. While using it with my PC, I occasionally got a message about “Display connection might be limited.” It’s nothing major, but it’s a bit odd. The included USB-C ports offer flexibility, but I had limited luck daisy-chaining additional devices.I’m happy with the Hagibis M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure! It's perfect for anyone looking to give new life to an old NVMe SSD or just wants a little extra storage.Pros:- Excellent passive cooling and no thermal throttling that I found- 100W PD passthrough for charging devices with one USB-C port- Supercapacitor protects against errant power drops and potential data loss- Easy installation and solid build qualityCons:- Occasional “Display connection might be limited” message when connecting to a PC- Daunting daisy-chain feature may not be useful for everyone- Small screws can be hard to manage, and the torx driver is easy to misplace
