A bit larger than I had expected but very powerful and easy to get the heat you need for the heat shrink without melting any wires!

Worked great on shrink wrapping 21 gauge and smaller wire. Happy to note that it comes with some shrink tube samples and I needed them to complete my project. Heat gun was easy to use.

I was searching for two things in a mini heat gun: Digital Temp Adjustment, and fan control. The PROS: This one has BOTH! Another thing I like to see is a way to see the temp display in Farenheit and have it set that way. This one can be easily programmed to always show Farenheit. It also has a memory function so I can leave it set to specific temp since I pull this one out when doing delicate shrink wrap work. It heats up to 375F almost instantly, vs my heat gun, which takes about 10seconds to start really warming up. I use this mini heat gun probably 3x per week and have been doing that for almost 2 yrs now... still work perfectly. It also comes with a wall mount. The Cons: That said, be sure to buy a little heat shield since it DOES put off a lot of heat. And it should really be unplugged after you are done with it for the day, as the grip seems to have some heat to it in the "off" position if it is plugged in. This makes me nervous so I just keep it unplugged (unless I forget, which is occasional).Outside of that, this has been the best mini heat gun. for bigger shrink wrap projects that require more volume of air to move, I recommend a heat GUN with digital adjustable Farenheit temp control and fan control... I can't stress those two big things being such an important consideration. I had a non-digital before and I end up just "guessing" what range of temp I am using... with digital, I can safely dial in the perfect temp so I don't "melt" the shrink wrap, or start burning the polyolefin.

Pros- it works well and the included tips are definitely useful- easy to use and easy to adjust the temperatureCons- the electronic components have nearly no ventilation, which is probably why people have been having issues with these- the included stand works, but it worries me a bit because it can accidentally be knocked over, or the cord could get caught on something and yanked, etc. Be careful when using it!When you turn it off, it does make sure to cool itself to 100 degrees prior to fully powering off, however you need to make sure to leave it on the stand for a bit because it is still hot.Overall I like it's ease of use, smaller footprint and included tips, but you definitely need to be careful with it and make sure you don't keep it powered on for too long to prevent the electrical components from overheating.

I like this heat gun very much. It's overall size is quite compact, however it includes two unbeatable functions that many larger heat guns does not provide - digital temperature control and air flow control.Temperature control is such a great feature. It's digital meaning you know what temperature you get, and it is precise so you control to each single number. It is accurate enough that I used a IR temperature reader and it is within 1 or 2 degree C of skew. Way too accurate for most usage.Air flow control is not digital but good enough for usage too. However the range is not exactly wide, and using a lower flow is more risky to cause over heat. But I find these are not so much of an issue in real usage.
