After this got to my house, we went online to see if we could find a better deal. We couldn't, unless:1. ...we were okay with giving up the welded-closed "hitch" end. It faces forward, and if it were left open it could get jammed up and gather a big mud/clay mass I would likely end up having to cut off. Just better with the closed end.2. ...we were only planning to use it once and didn't care if it made it until next spring. However, we plan to use this every year of our active lives and then leave it to the kids with everything else. This isn't "estate sale five dollar stuff". This is equipment that could easily make organic farming on a smaller scale far more profitable by saving sooo many, many man hours and getting more seed in, germinating earlier, possibly even allowing for spring, summer, and fall crops, and have time to spare while producing bountiful yields instead of having precious few plantings and no real net profit because not enough soil was turned by our old bodies with our old hand-tools. I might be able to, almost sedentary, turn and plant an acre by myself in a day, instead of breaking myself in half for a month by hand, and do that three times before winter, maybe even growing cabbage and other brassicas like broccoli, kohlrabi and cauliflower, spinach, snow peas, carrots, radishes, whatever, with straw and row covers into December if I do it right. I'm excited again about growing vegetables, and excited to see how much faster and easier it's going to be for this old lady to get my seeds planted. So, yeah, of course, I wasn't about send all that back.3. ...big whatever, good buddy, cuz the entire thought of finding a cheaper one no longer mattered at this point. None of the "cheaper" ones was able to be what this simply IS. Done looking. Tada-tada.After taking a very in-depth look and comparing with others available that are intended for the same purpose, feature-by-feature, I only have eyes for this well thought out and well-made, heavy iron beauty. I have no doubt that (barring catching on a huge granite boulder while using this behind a full size field tractor, which won't happen) if this caught on a big boulder, the ATV or Lawn Tractor will be dragged to a stop before this would break. I think the bolts might shear clean off before the iron of this thing gave up.This was obviously made by an experienced metalworker who makes lots of things, and knows what they're doing.Five stars and my highest recommendation. Great job, metalworker person. This is going to save this ol' lady soo much hard work and time.

Ordered this Hitch Mounted Trencher for 3 Point Receivers - 2" Hitch - W/2 Cutting/Digging Teeth for my tractor. Our home & shop is generally level property, except at the back of our home backs up to a hill side. When we have heavy rains, some of the water ends up in our back yard. Recently while shopping online for some tractor parts,I saw this hitch mounted trenching/digging shank and started reading about it and how it works. After reading about it's hook up design and it's curved shaft with a heavy duty heavy iron shank that digs up to 18 1/2" deep trenches,I ordered it for my tractor. Wish I would of had this nice strong implement tool long before now. It's very well made of solid alloy steel and the main shank is 3/8" thick solid steel. It also has good thick welds for strength. It came with (2) types of digging teeth and can add either one with one simple bolt. It fits a 2" receiver hitch well. I like that it has multiple adjustment holes for various depths needed. I put this on my tractor and used the straight flat tooth as it's approx 1/4" thick tooth. Set the shank to deepest level of 18" and plowed/dug across the back of our hill side.I made (8) cutting paths all way across the field, approx (8) feet apart to catch any/all water from heavy rains. It also worked!. Now, the water has to fill up (8) trenches to even make it to our back yard.Since digging those trenches, we've had no more water problems at all as the trenches catches all the water and the ground absorbs it, long before it reaches our yard. I like that it has a heavy black powder coat paint and that makes it rust resistant. This one tool has saved me from having to deal with our water problems in our back yard. This would also make a great tool for burying electric wire, cable, & etc. Happy with order

This hitch-mounted ripper is a beast! The wide compatibility with 2-inch receivers and CAT 0/CAT 1 tractors makes it incredibly versatile. The durable, reinforced steel construction with a powder-coated finish gives me confidence it will withstand years of use.I'm particularly impressed with the upgraded teeth made from cemented carbide – they're incredibly strong and show no signs of wear. The inclusion of two types of teeth is a nice touch, allowing me to tackle different terrains and tasks with ease. The adjustable height feature is also very useful, and installation was straightforward with the included hardware. It's perfect for ripping up soil, digging ditches, and general farm work. If you need a heavy-duty and reliable ripper for your ATV, UTV, or tractor, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

This Hitch Mounted Trencher/Ripper for ATV/UTV worked much better than I expected! We have very rocky soil, and it's challenging to even dig a hole, let alone a trench, and this cut through my front yard with ease, even when it hit rocks. I don't have a 3-point hitch or one of those manual adjustable-height hitches (just a standard 2" receiver hitch on our ATV), but this trencher has some height adjustability built in - you just move the bolts and adjust it as needed, giving you a few inches of depth options. The only thing to be aware of is that if you are only using it with a receiver hitch, you have to get your ATV into position, install the ripper and then start. But if you need to loosen a lot of soil for leveling or something, this was OUTSTANDING. It's got shear-bolts in case you hit too hard of an object, and two different tips for more of a ripper point and a blunt point for a trench. It was sturdier than we thought! We're very pleasantly pleased with this item.
