It's not yet kayaking weather where I am, but soon. I have a few kayaks including a 15 plus foot sea kayak that I transport on saddle mounts on the roof of my SUV. I wanted to try something to make it easier to load on the roof without leaning in on my vehicles' roof spoiler causing possible damage and/or scratching the paint.I've seen these type of loaders/rollers before, but never tried one. This kayak loader is solidity made, and extremely easy to assemble. It can also be easily disassembled for storage if needed.I have not actually loaded my kayak yet this season due to the winter weather hanging on, but I did install it on my rear hatch window using the suction cups. I did clean the glass window first, and then adhered the cups using the pumping buttons to create the suction. Wow, do these really adhere to the glass! The suction is so strong the loader does not budge at all. As a matter of fact, by using my body weight I tried to move the loader from the glass window, but My SUV actually rocked as I was trying to pry this off. Removal is as simple as can be, just release the pressure by pulling the bottom tabs. The roller itself moves smoothly while pushing by hand. I'm sure loading the kayak itself will be similar. The angle of the loaders' roller will allow me to roll the kayak above my rear spoiler, not touching any body part/paint and straight to the saddle holders themselves. This also will make it easier to lift/load/unload due to less resistance than my old method of using a rubber mat directly on my spoiler. I have lost a few mats because I have forgotten to remove the mat after using it. If I forget to remove this loader, I feel confident it will still be there when I reach my next destination.I'm looking forward to much easier loading/unloading for my kayaks, which also means more kayaking trips.

This is a huge help if you have a big heavy kayak. I think it’s a little too small for a canoe, and if you kayak is about 3 feet wide like mine (sit on top fishing kayak) it would be great if this is wider, but I knew the dimensions before ordering. I actually used this on the back of my sedan, which is at a good angle and it worked just fine. It did take some good force to get the roller to stick to the windshield, but it hung on tight and came off easily. Do not drive with this on though! It’s definitely of a good build quality. I think it’s great that this has two angles for rolling but I wish you could customize it. You can just put it lower or higher on the windshield to help with that though.

What a game changer!I've been kayak fishing with my brother for over a decade. Back then, the type of suction cup mounts were never strong enough for us to be confident to use for loading our heavy kayaks. When I say heavy, I generally mean kayaks over 70 lbs. The selling point is that there's a vacuum pump system, along with witness marks to verify that the suction is properly engaged. You simply push the suction cup onto the surface, press the pump until you don't see the red witness mark anymore, and it's good to go.My brother attached this to the back of his subaru impreza and proceeded to shake his entire car with it, and the suction did not come loose. He was able to easily load his hobie outback onto his car top, and removing the suction cups afterward was very simple.Reasons I docked 1 star:In the product photos, the two hoop parts connect to the straight roller section via screw and nut. They provide a screw and nut; however, the product already has these installed push-pins inside of them so you can't use the hardware. That's fine and all but, these push pins are the smallest I've ever seen of this variety. I wouldn't be comfortable with loading my other heavier (newer) outback model. The instructions were also not very good, but it doesn't take long to figure it out.

This thing is so much tougher than I thought it'd be. The directions are for an older version, one in which you'd have to put together the entire thing one piece at a time. It's actually a lot easier than the directions make it seem. Just a few steps. Two separate settings allow for use on a curved window or a straight one. It's been suctioned to our window for weeks now without any sign of loosening.

I had a kayaking friend try this out and she was able to mount it easily and load it up and unload it without much difficulty. Probably best to have two pairs of hands to ensure it doesn't go sideways before getting into the mount.
