I'm using these to upgrade my drum brakes to disc brakes on a 1972 El Camino. This set made it super easy. I was able to bend the lines, flare the fittings, and run all new brakes lines (ordered larger diameter brake line for the rear). Its really easy to use. The only downfall is the cut off tool is pretty weak. I have a larger copper cutting one that I used and its much easier to use. I did try this one but it took a bit of time and strength of fingers to really get it cutting.

This is sort of an interesting kit. It is sort of a compilation of separate individual tools that all serve a specific task. None of the individual tools are quality offerings, just your typical SE Asian knockoffs. That said, flaring metal tubing is not exactly a precision operation and though they wouldn't last a professional pipe fitter, a life time, as much as a home mechanic would doing this , they will be just fine. They do supply you a reasonable amount of 1/4" tubing and a selection of threaded fittings. Though you'll likely need more fittings, at least you'll have a selection, to figure out which ones you'll need more of.

A complete brakeline repair kit. Includes tubing bender, tubing cutter, flaring tool, connectors, and brake line. This is a single flare tool intended for brake line repair. If you need a double flare like for fuel lines this is not for you. I would suggest making a few flares before using to get yourself familiar with the too, and to ensure against leaks.

The top brake line on my Jeep the smallest one corroded away finally and started to leak and I ordered this kit in hopes that it would help me so I did not have to pay for a whole set of lines or just one line that I didn't know if it was going to fit properly or not. Surprisingly this was very easy to use the kit came with everything that you would need which makes it a good value for the money it had everything the brake line itself the connectors the tool that helps you flare it the bending tool as well for the curves that you'll have to put into your brake line to get around certain components on your vehicle and it fit great and the line seems to be very durable and I've had it on for a few days now and I have not seen a drip or anything no pressure loss or anything in my brakes .END RESULT: the functionality of this kit and the durability of the brake line material makes this get a no-brainer if you're trying to save money and you want the job done right and quickly. It's a good product

The kit comes exactly as pictured. The quality is good enough for most of us; it will likely last a lifetime. The pipe cutter is small, but large enough for brake lines. The cutter blade seems to be the standard size used in almost all pipe cutters I've seen, so a replacement of the cutter blade should be easy to find if you ever wear it out.I find that the smaller size to be a bit harder on the hands than the larger tools, but it gets the job done. This kit will easily handle most brake lines. and also be able to handle other lines later than that. The bend tool will handle lines up to 1/2" and the flair tool will handle up to 3/4".This is a good starter kit, meaning you will need to get supplies as needed, depend on your application. so you may end up getting things like metric fittings or stainless steel tubing and so on, as you make use of the tool.As for metric lines, this will handle 4.75 and 6mm standard metric lines. for 4.75mm use die size 3/16" and 6mm use size size 1/4" die size. Likewise for the bend tool. The kit comes with SAE threaded nuts, so do not be surprised if you need to get metric ones for your application. The included tubing will work for metric 4.75 and SAE 3/16" applications. My experience with using the tools, i found that the jig for holding the piping was good, and I liked the handles for tightening it down over how some use wingnuts. This was a big plus for this kit as it was easy to get it to get a good grip on the pipe. The bender was very straightforward and worked easily, but there is only one radius; there is not multiple radius dies. This is not an issue, just something to be aware of when choosing it for your needs. The angle indicator was a nice touch.Things to consider that the kit does not have: the kit does not have the adapters to do double flares. There is only one radius size. There is no case to store the kit in.conclusions: this is a mid-range kit, and will suit most applications. it is not as good as other kits that have multiple radii and double-flair abilities and a storage case. But, it works well for what it does do. I dropped off a star as i had to compare this against other brake flairing tools, and its falls short of those. But, is still good for most applications.Overall, this kit handles brake line flaring well.i hope this was helpful

My husband is a mechanic. He does probably more brake work than anything else.Somehow, he misplaced his flaring tool so I ordered this kit mostly to obtain that. The kit arrives in individual retail-style packaging inside one box. When the kit arrived, he was very pleased to see all the extra things that came with it, especially the length of brake line which, according to him, is always good to have around. In the north country, things get pretty rusty from all the salt used on the roads in winter so brake lines are always needing to be replaced. He says that they work as well as anything he’s used before and he’s happy to have nice, new tools without grease on them! He said that, around here, an equivalent length of brake line, alone, would be the price of the entire kit so it’s a good value.

I finally had an opportunity to use this tool this weekend when we were working on a friends car. The tool functioned exactly as designed, but it took me once or twice to get good with it. It's a good value and seems like it will hold up decent with DIY use, but probably not suitable for a high volume technician. I messed up using the tool a few times, but it held up to my learning curve abuse, so it's not a "disposable" tool so to speak. Overall its easy to use.
